The hubby & I are coming in from Central Florida week of June 9th. Any crawfish left? (or does Morganza Spillway opening affect)?
Where could we still get good po-boys & fried seafood? Had some favorites, but over 2 years since we have been back.
(Good Gawd, you don't know how good you have it... Until FL wants to swear that Swahi & tilapia are "great" when fried or cooked "Cajun style" and taste just like catfish!!!) Thanks.

Let me change my question.... We used to like Mr. Ed's (Old Bozo's) in Metairie for lunch; Rip's in Mandeville; Acme in Covington. I don't know if these are still good. Or any new ones better???

Not at all.
Just call your order in and pick it up.

Mandeville Seafood on 59 has a great restaurant and market.
Rips on the Lake for a more upscale experience.
Bears is always good

If you are in Mandeville, you should try Hambone. It's a new spot. The guy that opened it was a chef at Commander's before opening this place. Their food is top notch. Outdoor spot is legit and completely fenced in if you have kids and want to let them roam while you eat out there.

for po'boys, I'm going to recommend R&O's in Metairie for surf & turf as well as their hot muffaletta, and Buster's Place in Covington for their oyster po'boy.

Hell no, it’s not. but it’s still totally worth the aggravation. If we aren’t getting there by 11 then we’re calling it in.

For poboys... R&O's > Bears
For crawfish, you'll probably be able to find some. Call Bevi Seafood (1 location in Metairie and 1 in Mid-City). They should have some.

Acme in Covington.
I no longer go there since they quit using US catfish and started cutting corners in quality and sizes to keep the bean counters happy.
As others have said, R&O's makes a damn good po-boy if that is what you are craving.

Thanks for the catch. Not sure why I brain-farted on Lakeview.
