I’m curious to who’s in the meeting. If I were keeping it simple I’d go with Griffin, Mrs. Benson to do an “I get it now, the team has my full support” and Jrue.
On the other hand I’d want Jrue far away from this meeting. What if AD asks about it being Jrue’s team now? That conversation could get awkward, especially when they ask about Zion’s long term role as face of the franchise.

I actually know two highly placed people in business operations. I just don't care enough to bother them for information. I don't doubt he knows someone in the organization. It's hardly unusual as my own circumstances demonstrate. That said, he still shapes the narrative to paint himself as more in the know than he probably is in reality.
I'll get my information when an official announcement is made. I don't mind waiting the extra day and a half.

I don’t know if he will. Maybe it’s the Langdon connection, but Brooklyn seemingly involved in the AD sweepstakes has seemed to come out of nowhere. It also gives you 4 teams in NY/LA bidding on AD plus Boston. That might be enough teams to get the Pels what they want and enough odds at a major market to keep Klutch happy.

I actually had a pretty legit source. Girl at my old job was married to one of the assistant coaches/scouts. I never asked, nor did she ever divulge anything related to things happening in the future. Moreso just giving a LOT more context and behind the scenes stuff of things that already happened. Like Jrue was totally gone until we shocked him with the mega offer. Demps basically worked the boogie deal in near secret. A lot of others in the FO and basically none of the coaches knew of the boogie trade until it was reported in the media. How Dell really had a bit of a reputation as a snake. Even among his subordinates.
He ended up taking a job with the blazers like midway through the 2017-2018 season and she moved shortly after. Would have loved to have had her around the last 3 or 4 months.
