Mississippi's university system has a long history of struggles over academic freedom. The 12-member College Board was enshrined in the state Constitution in 1942 , with the amendment saying trustees should be "uninfluenced by any political considerations." The move came after Gov. Theodore Bilbo in 1928 fired the heads of three institutions and a number of faculty member. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools revoked the schools' accreditation for several years, devaluing the degrees they granted.

LOL.
Why would this surprise anyone?
Because this is a college in the south?
Proggies have a stranglehold on our educational system everywhere, not just on the coasts.

I wonder if his fingers have been the same places as Toddy’s

For his part, Thomas said he doesn't retract the statement. "I don't regret a damn thing," he said Thursday.
Nor should he b/c he knew he was getting tenured. Shame on you Ole Piss.

So as a tenured professor his students should redistribute his meals all day every day. They pay his salary, might as well have his salad too.

How has such an old south school gone so off the rails?

How much trouble would a diner be in if the professor drew back 5 broken fingers and other various injuries? I'd assume none at all.

I’ve been getting missed calls from the Ole Miss law school looking for my donations. I’m not donating for the first time since I graduated, and I don’t think I will again

Who is the head of Ole Amiss these days anyway?

Oxford/Ole Miss is a pretty progressive place here now sadly

Break their fingers if they dare! Wonder what would happen to them in the old west?

It's all indoctrination now.

I'd definitely jam a fork through his hand. Then I'd request a replacement salad and fork and invite him to reach his other hand towards my food. Not joking either. I might even stick the fork in his damned eye.

Someone needs to ask him if he has tossed any salads lately.

I wish he would put his hand on my food. I would nail his hand to the table with my steak knife.
