Look, it's a really simple concept. It is plain to see how the term "dog years" is constructed, and how a similar term can be constructed to compare any two animals.

That is, if you could first understand what these two simple words mean when side by side.

It’s bothering me that you think your explanation of this is somehow above our heads. There is nothing difficult about it. I just don’t believe it’s how people use the terms.

Some people don’t think driveway and parkway make sense. But it doesn’t change that we have an agreed upon way of using them.
