Meh. No reason Americans should be paying 2000% more for the same exact medication.

We’re paying for the lion’s share of R&D and we’re the only ones willing to do that. Medical R&D stalls globally if we stop paying.

The only way medicine can continue to advance at its current rate and for the US to pay less is for everyone else in the world to pay more. The rest of the world has made it clear they’re not willing to do that and only want to ride in our wake - the bird up front flies the hardest.

Unless America has like %2000 greater supply of money.

Supply/Demand sets prices, including supply of money. It's why artificial minimum wages cause inflation. The minimum wage increase simply increases the supply of money available for spending on the same number of goods/services.

So, if there is a greater supply of money in America than, Ethiopia for instance, prices will be higher here than there for everything. Nobody complains that we are a wealthy nation, until they look at the prices we pay compared to poorer nations.

That was kind of his point, these are the things they should’ve been discussing, not whether pharma companies should make a profit and pay their CEOs

If the world respected the intellectual property of drug companies, that cost would be shared across the globe instead of being borne by Americans alone.

Two things. Don’t buy/use it.

Get your own $200 million and go develop a world changing medicine yourself and give it away for free.

Want to lower health care/drug costs? Quit dumping billions and billions of our tax dollars into the system.
