You’re trying to promote truth to people who can’t understand how that could possibly happen.
If movement could have been detected suggesting the Japanese’s imminent attack on Pearl Harbor, should we have acted first? Or, just waited until their swarm of planes were on top of us dropping bombs?

Yes.
Some folks believe we did know it was coming and let it happen anyway. The war had been going on since 1939, but we didn't declare war until after Pearl Harbor in 1941.
