I don't know about a per diem. They typically live with host families.
These leagues are for development and scouting, league championships are surely sought after, but are ultimately meaningless.

I think he's kind of proven now he's not really capable of that in this league.
Unless of course he does a complete 180 at the plate next year, there's always that. Seems like on this level his peak is defensive replacement at 3B/SS/2B when you need it.
Kramer hit .200 and .220 his first 2 seasons at LSU before doing a 180. There are a lot of parallels between Kramer and Hal. Hopefully Hal continues the same career trajectory.

Usually the top jrs don't have Cape assignments as they are expected to go pro and Josh Smith is in that category.
Cape Cod is not travel ball.
It's the premiere collegiate league and a chance for major league scouts to watch college players using wood bats. If not playing for Team USA, the top guys are at the Cape. The longer college season with the CWS ending late June as opposed to first week in June when it used to end means the Cape loses out on some of those players the first month of the Cape season.

Even guys like Threadgill, Ripoll, Gunter, and George?
No problem if any of those go North. None are front line guys.
Fontenot can stay here.
Let me ask a question, besides extra PT do these pitchers and players receive extra coaching? Is it just a showcase or do they practice with s coach too?

They get additional coaching. Specifically in the Cape they get coaching from the staff of the respective club for which they play and may also get coaching from the scouts that are there.
But they all get coaching.
ETA: Below the Cape, there is very little showcase aspect. Other leagues are scouted, but not nearly to the same extent.

If there is good instruction and I’d certainly like out backline guys going. And I’d change my stance on Fontenot.
Thxs for the answer

And who on staff is gonna coach him up? Kramer didn’t just magically get better his junior season. Cannizzaro helped him a lot. We all know Ochinko isn’t capable of making hitters better.

Bump to update with new information. I've added the summer destination for 4 more guys. Braden Doughty, Cade Doughty, Ray Torres, and Riggs Threadgill will all be playing for the Gaithersburg Giants in the Cal Ripken league.
Additionally, Wes Toups, Mitchell Sanford, and Hayden Travinski have all started their summer seasons. Toups and Travinksi each have a home run.
Kaminer, Torres, and Cade Doughty will begin this week, maybe Threadgill as well since he wasn't on the regional roster.

Any word on CJ Willis? I know he isnt on the post season roster and dont see him listed

I haven't found his spot yet. I thought he was on the post season roster though.

I didnt hear his name announced when naming the non starters and didnt see him on the victory lap last night, I could have just missed it though

Is this a good sign that he is a real contender to not sign, or is it just a normal thing?

On Doughty, I think it's a good sign that he's listed on a summer roster at all. We've only lost one kid that was set to play summer ball (Pearson). There isn't anything official that says he's starting, but the articles I read today look promising for him getting to campus.
Back on Willis, I had just assumed he was on the post season roster, I never saw him in the dugout or anything though. I figured if he wasn't on the post season roster he'd be going to the Northwoods league since it started already, but he might be going to the cape. Their rosters aren't always easy to track down before the season starts though. He's not currently on any roster for the Northwoods League, or any of the regular spots in other leagues like Danville, Gaithersburg, Lima.
ETA: There are at least 3 Cape teams whose rosters haven't been published yet, so there is a good chance Willis is on one of them.
