re: Iran does not pose a threat to us

Our country needs a boogeyman to distract us from the real threat: our own government. And it's funny how everyone on here hates the Deep State until there's a war to be engineered. Again, the same people who tried to frame Trump are the biggest supporters of regime change in Iran. Why should we believe anything they say or do? Patriotism really is the last refuge of a scoundrel.

If we have one soldier within the range of their weaponry or their terror cells, then they do pose a threat to us.
I just hope that if we go to war (we won't anytime soon) , we go to win.

I have nothing but respect for veterans
They murdered our Marines in Beruit, murdered and maimed our servicemen in Iraq, blew up embassies and murdered civilian s,bombed the USS Cole, bombed the Jewish center in Argentina.
They're also involved in Venezuelaand establishing Hezbollah chapters in Columbia and Brazil
The Irainians have more than enough US blood on their hands.
Can we stop with the revisionist history in regards to the '53 coup?
Iran was FAR better off under the Shah than they've ever been since the revolution.Mosaddegh was an unstable leader who was on the verge of losing the country to the communists... people have tendency to forget that the USSR occupied the northern half of the country throughout WWII and up until 1946.
BTW he was "elected" by the parliment...not by a popular vote and he also was unpopular among the Aytollahs and clerics.
And no I don't want a full scale war with them but I do want those in the IRCG to pay for their acts murder and terror.

The only revisionist history is that we made Iran a better country by intervening in their government and dictating policy to them. No matter how hard you try, you cannot force Iran to be a democracy. What is so hard to understand about respecting the sovereignty of states? We are prepared to go to war with Iran all because we didn’t respect that sovereignty.

Their cyber attacks are of serious concern. Especially to our power grid.

Ever look at pictures of Iran and Iranians before the revolution? Didn’t look like a bad place to be.
Did it look as nice as Syria before Israel and the US funded the rebels and ISIS?

That's not why we got involved in '53 and I'm not sure you really understand the context.
Brits were just as concerned about Mosaddegh and his instabily and were even more concerned about him nationalizing oil.
I don't give 2 shits about democracy in Iran and how in God's name did you come to that conclusion?
I care about them murdering US servicemen, bombing embassies and extending their tentacles into South America.
Whew, guess ALL the points went right over your head.

John Bolton is ready for war so are a lot of Republicans, as long as it's not them or their kids fighting.

quote:. Oh they don’t? Except for the fact that they literally have directly threatened the USA and our Navy. Iran has threatened the USA since the hostage situation in 1980. To hell with them, if they much as twitch I hold we turn that entire place into a sheet of glass.
Even if they did, we have missile defense systems in virtually every country surrounding Iran. Going to war with them would be foolish and it would be in direct contradiction to everything history has taught us. We’ve been threatening their sovereignty for at least five decades by installing brutal dictators and interfering in their government, suppressing their people, and crippling their country’s economy. These neocons like John Bolton need to go take a hike before they start another quagmire in the Middle East.

So what exactly is your train of thought?
If the Saudis can do it then so can Iran. Of course, like the Saudis, it would not have Iran's finger prints.
I feel better, this morning the Ayatollah Khomeini assured us they were not going to war with the USA.
Don't you feel better?
The difference, IMO, is Saudi money is controlling most of the politicians in the USA.
We know they can be bought. Saudi's have lots of money.

People trot this out without fail. I guess that's because nobody shits on them when republicans and their kids fight and die right along side everyone else. Probably ought to put that one away, after 50 years.

The top export destinations of Iran are China ($16.9B), India ($10.2B), South Korea ($7.22B), Italy ($3.48B) and Japan ($3.23B). The top import origins are China ($18.4B), South Korea ($4.02B), Germany ($3.22B), Turkey ($3.15B) and India ($2.58B).
you could argue China starting a proxy war against us using Iran.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei poses an immediate threat to U.S. National Security. He supports terrorism and continues to play cloak and dagger games regarding uranium enrichment.
Iran is pure evil, that supports nothing but jihad against the U.S.

Do a little research dumbass. Embassy bombing
USS Cole:
quote:
“In the years leading up to the Cole bombing, Iran was directly involved in establishing Al-Qaeda’s Yemen network and supported training and logistics for Al-Qaeda in the Gulf region,” Contreras wrote, summarizing his finding of financial, logistical and other support provided by the two governments to al-Qaeda in the 1990s
Argentina bombing
Iranian backed groups killing Americans in Iraq
There's much, much more if you want to get your head outta your arse.
