Are Tidewater boats considered top-tier?

Saw a 32' CC going down the interstate this morning. Nice looking rig. Are they respected like Yellowfin?

Good boats but not in the yellowfin/freeman/contender discussion yet

This Freeman was at the Tickbaw 200
And this Yellowfin.
And this Yellowfin.

That Yellowfin is ugly. It wouldn't stop me from fishing it, but the decals are terrible.

The Kryptek wrap wannabe MGFC is making me irrationally angry. Why would you voluntarily do that?!?!

That's not too bad...What's worse is the Mercury's on the back of it.

I wouldnt not fish on one. but no clue on the quality.

that's a tideline...totally different boat and they are very nice..
as for a tidewater...id put it up there with bass pro mako quality...def not top tier.
as for the ugly yellowfin. that's Jeremy with bowfishing unlimited boat. has 450s super chargers on the engines. does upper 70s

Above is correct, Tidewater isn't in ballpark of Tideline, much less Freeman, et al.
Tidewater very much mid to low-mid tier bay boat manufacturer. They've made some strides in recent years with upgraded hardware but the bar has constantly been raised at same price point.

I bet you aren't a big fan of contenders after your recent encounter 20 miles offshore

Fair enough. I'll say this though, the Tidewater had a hell of a bow flare (sorry if that's the wrong term). It must ride dry.

I was looking at the 24 bay
The Center console set up on her looks gay

They do indeed have a helluva bow flare; haven't ridden in one to see how it rolls though. That's not to say it wouldn't be a great boat for a LOT of fishermen, not everyone needs a Yellowfin to put slime on the decks safely and take out their family on the water.
I've had two Nautic Stars and now a Sportsman, none were perfect boats with perfect fit and finish, both pretty solid for their price points allowing for a lot of service for the money.

What Nautic Stars and what Sportsman do you currently have. I’ve narrowed my search down to the NS 265xts, Sportsman 267 Masters and the PF 2600 TRS.

Started with NS 2110 then to NS 224XTS (now superseded by the 227XTS), now in Sportsman Masters 227.
Of those you listed, the Pathfinder is probably the top notch, and I'd figure the top end of the $$ scale of the three. Great reviews from a couple of friends with them.
Do not have any experience in NS or Sportsman's 26 ft bay boats but would by default give the Sportsman a slight edge for fit and finish based on experience with other bay boats from both builders.

I believe Tidewaters are made in North Carolina? The Carolina flare is big in North Carolina made boats. Not sure why it’s not more popular along the gulf coast.

I'm buying a Tidewater 2200 Carolina Bay this week and fully understand where it lies amongst the group. Just as you said, the goal has been getting the boys out without spending a fortune on a rig.
I'll be out the door around $50k brand new with the necessary bells and whistles. While I, like anyone, would love a Shearwater, Blackjack, etc., it comes down to practicality and reasonable spending.
I'll say this, the casting deck on it is fricking huge thanks to that Carolina flare.
