I wonder if we could in the future inject industrial brine in the water. I saw that mentioned earlier. I wonder if we could (natural-chemically) alter the salinity and get rid of desalinization byproduct at the same time.

Could have been you if you didn’t get kicked off the river for impersonating a river pilot

Just curious, why do y’all wish that? What’s the pros?

If it was measured out and introduced in the lake at the spillway.
It would have to be prethinned, but it seems plausible.

Y'all idiots choose to live in a swamp so we don't have a bit of sympathy. Plus, y'all hate us.

Mississippi River at #NOLA now 17.18 Feet. Flood stage is 17 feet. Flood Warning posted. Metro protected up to 20 feet. Look at the River height against levee. Notice buildings are lower!

Why? Also, that would take a shite ton of salt

Amazes me a levee can hold back that amount of pressure at that height.

Isn’t that what the river is already doing with it closed? There are like 30 dredging projects going on at the mouth building up new land. They’ve even closed Port Eads because of of as well as some of the other passes at the mouth.

If it stays open it would do more harm than good is my understanding. But I’m not as educated on the pros and cons as you may be.

Industrial brine is a huge byproduct of desalinization. If a use was found it could help.
