re: GOT real disappointment in ending story telling

I have fricking hated this season so far (and most of the post-book work), but I actually thought tonight was a really solid effort and a damn good episode. Maybe I might be alone in that thought given what I’m reading below, but I thought the dialogue and arc was really good tonight - way better than the first three episodes of this season.

You sound like a great person to be around

Ryan3232, my complaint of EP 3 and 4 aren't based on "fantasical musings that do not exist in our world". Fantasy/SCi-fi are fun. They don't roll by our rules. But the good ones have rules. GRRM and GOT have had rules. Last 2 episodes have pissed on those rules.
Tactics and "believably" don't always go in hand. But Arya Stark...who outside of the NK piece...her arc has been the best in the show and books and EP 4 actually cemented that...j/s, didn't even know who the NK was...much less be able to pick him out in a room of tens to hundreds of undead and kill him without any of the others intervening...its really not plausible within the context of the world we are given. Wouldn't bat an eye if she kills Cersei in EP 5 with a smile and Euron...and the Mountain...and Tyrion...and Jaimie. Her character is the consummate assassin. Who typically fares very well in close quarters, with civilians, and planning. Off the cuff, multiple antagonists, readied fighters, and poor odds...not really shining by typical fantasy or non-fictional standards.

I'm a hoot. But like others who haven't enjoyed this series, but LOVED it, I'm disappointed in how much they are dropping some of the story lines. I just don't understand how being upset/disgruntled/abashed by this is wrong. I'm liking the Jaimie/Brienne outcome. Why can't I dislike the Jon/Dany outcome?

When I get an alter, I will personally stroll up to your front door and knock...to say hello...or something similar.

Some of tonight was truly solid work. I thoroughly enjoyed the Jaimie/Brienne arc...long time coming. The honoring the dead, Gendry, so forth. Honestly, its the tactics, the response to adversity, and the inevitability to Dany going MAD KING despite the fact the her lineage wasn't that crazy by Westeros historical standards.

Because a lot of them want little to no criticism of the show

She was in the library talking to Mel and fighting with the Hound and Beric when he landed...there is no show evidence she ever saw him before she attacked him.

Do we just not check for alters anymore?
Posted on 5/5/19 at 11:40 pm to huntingwabbits47
I think they instantly killed the dothraki is because of something the director said after they filmed the battle of the bastards. Which is filming with horses is a pain in the arse and im sure trying to film with them at night for 3 months would have been a nightmare I'm sure

Is this the excuse for a lack of intelligent argument???Alters?!?
I'm trying to take the people who decry this seriously because I have a blast on the entire TD site. Music/PD/TR/OT/Golf?OSB...but it seems the defacto response when argument is beyond the poster. Come at me bro! Dispute! Tell me my breakdowns and conclusions are poorly based on emotion or dissuaded logic...something!!! This dude is an alter! His logic seems to be sound though I don't agree with his premise. "ALTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" wtf

I agree with you through and through though huntingwabbits47. Lets just see how the show plays out. I pray we get some answers. (I dont think we will, but im still in this).

The Dorthraki are still there. The Dorthraki guy in the war council only took off half the Dorthraki pieces when they were discussing their current army size.

Tonight"s episode was only cringe worthy within the tactical abastract. Jaimie and Brienne...in, anger over Rhaegal...in, confusion of the Jon/Dany dynamic...in. Arya and Hound on the road headed to KL...shut the rest down and count me in without complaint or commentary.
But a lot of the rest just doesn't pass the basic premise of simple logic...I'm supposed to be cool with that?!?

Jamie bedding Brienne is so forced. Jamie’s going to marry her and live at Castile Rock? Jamie’s Destiny has always been to kill Cersei.

Separate from the books. It's a condensed show. It's not real.
I'm not saying episodes we're noy lacking, but that's almost every series.
Martin isn't finishing the books. Get over it, or don't watch.

On Camera: Jon Snow: The Night king is coming
Off Camera: Arya: That's worrisome what does the Night King look like?
Jon Snow. Well White, bald, menacing, crown of horns on his head. Looks completely unique and different than all the undead.
Arya: Good to know. You don't think we need to put this conversation on camera? You know so the audience would understand how I knew who to kill
Jon: I mean we have foreshadowed the shite out this over the last three seasons would be a little obvious to take it that far.
far away in the land of Tigerdroppings...
OP: THIS IS THE DUMBEST bullshite I HAVE EVER SEEN. I NEED TO BE TOLD EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS AND JUSTIFICATION FOR EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OR IT'S TOTAL CRAP.
