Seriously? He doesn't have a job. shite the bed after we fired him, and Ensminger put up better numbers after he was fired.

Why do you like him?

Joe Brady is a legit coordinator with experience in one of the most prolific offensive systems in the history of the NFL.

how is he a legit coordinator? isn't this his first time with that title?

and he was with the Saints, what, 2 years?

look, I like what I've heard about the guy and I'm optimistic about seeing better things on offense (though honestly mostly because we have a really veteran crew returning), but some of this feels like offseason overhype.

we'll see soon enough. :cantwait:

an obvious lack of chemistry

Now that was part of the reason for that relative lack of success for Canada's offense, but his scheme itself was flawed. He relied more on gimmicky devices like jet sweeps and traps rather than situational offensive planning. And, simply put, Etling was no Joe Burrow.

He was considered a wizard on day one, and days before. So was crowton.

However, sometimes it doesn’t work out. I was excited to hear him say that he was going to customize the offense according to the talent we had, year to year. He did good things with Brissett and peterman

It sounded like a great hire, but only if he was allowed to do what he needed to do. And I do t think he got that opportunity.

I’m interested to see what he can do elsewhere against power five defenses.

We had more yards in 2017, and the difference in scoring is almost entirely from the 7OT game.

Then we look to the bama games and see who the better OC was. Canada was never shut down like SE has been by Bama... and SELU and La Tech

I was fairly optimistic, but started having doubts game one vs BYU

Too much motion & no offense! Glad that cocky shite is gone! We wasted a year with him!

He’s literally never been a coordinator in any capacity. He was an “offensive assistant” with the Saints and a GA before that. The title “passing game coordinator” just sounds catchy and exciting l to the fanbase, so mission accomplished.

Wut? He’s the HC. Like it or not, everything, good or bad, falls at his feet.

Now, I agree with your statement about about Brady and Ensminger. Bottom line is Steve is still the OC and he may revert to his old tendencies under pressure.

The Troy loss SUCKED. But we moved the ball better against the Gumps. Call it a wash.

That's pretty ridiculous to call "losing to Troy" and "moving the ball against Alabama but still losing" a wash

We all were excited because we wanted change and ultimately he provided change but head coaches and assistants MUST be on same page or it will not last.

I am most excited about Brady because what he learned with Saints as they focus on each play causing a mismatch. In the past, LSU seemed to rely on players just beating other players and too often that didn’t happen especially in the passing game. I feel like last year was better but OL didn’t provide enough time.

He was the only offensive coach nominated for the Broyles award

Clearly it was Les’ fault

The real genius was Nick Saban & Will Muschamp.

I remember the optimism being off the charts, kind of like this season. O is great at building up expectations then throwing down a litany of excuses when they aren’t met.

At the same time, when his name was just being thrown around as a possibility there were some knowledgeable posters who weren't high on him at all. His numbers outside of Pitt weren't anything to brag about for the most part and there were some question marks about him being fired from NC State after having a good offense which people thought might've been a sign he was hard to work with.

I was excited about the hire then I watched the BYU season opener and was disillusioned.
