And, they are largely clock punchers and subject to shitty shifts.

But, that kind of cash sans an engineering degree is something. However, their snickering about educated mgmt is misdirected. No. Your job isn’t better. Far from it.

Oil prices =/= plant job stability

ETA - for the sake of clarity, I'm stating oil prices dropping don't negatively impact plant workers. It's often the exact opposite.

Refining doesn’t miss a beat.

In the US we don’t but gasoline. The crude that we don’t produce ourselves is bought on the open market, then shipped here for refining.

Oil price may slightly effect our margins but no one is losing their job

Working in the industry for the last 20 years it has become blatantly obvious that possessing a degree does not equate success
