. Another tie in to the Mannings. It's not just Cutcliffe. David is a good friend of Eli.

Eli already canceled his radio appearances immediately after the draft. Sounds like he was happy pretending to groom a 2nd round pick. He doesn't want a #6 overall who needs to play somewhat soon.

SVP said it best.. Daniel Jones lost his last ACC game(at home) to Wake Forrest 59-7.... I know it’s a team sport but holy shite

I like SVP but that's a dumb statement to make. College football rivalry games are weird like that sometimes. An outcome like that is a total team failure.

I don’t disagree.

When they picked him at 6 I thought that was shocking.

But it’s Gettleman.

But me thinks Eli would have gotten upset no matter what went down.

Lets be real, probably 95% of Giants fans did not watch a Duke football game last year. More definitely watched Ohio State games but still far from a majority. Most of the backlash towards the kid is straight groupthink

Watching Duke this year would probably make you even more mad at the pick

If Daniel Jones had gone to OSU and Haskins had gone to Duke, neither program would have been any better or worse than they were.

Jones was the better choice, but neither are going to be difference makers.

Haskins has the best supporting cast in his conference, by a sizable margin and still took a huge loss and struggled against teams they had no business struggling with. He was surrounded by NFL talent on both sides of the ball. Hell he had two of his receivers drafted in the first 3 rounds and their third receiver will be taken by the end of the day.

How many guys other than Jones will be drafted from Duke this year? Hell their basketball program will have more first rounders than their football will have guys drafted period.

Would have been there at 17

That's what makes it awful.

Could have got the TE from Iowa at 6. Could have traded down a few spots, still got their qb and picked up a 3rd or 4th.

Looked similar to how shitty Haskins played against a shitty Purdue defense who pressured him from all angles.

My thoughts exactly, what a fricking abysmal draft the Giants conducted thus far

I disagree about supposed "set up to fail".

He's not getting on the field next season.
He's getting a small fortune to sign.
He can get a place in North Jersey and work on his game.
Maybe he turns into a serviceable backup.
Maybe more.
If he's lucky Manning stays upright two more years and Jones cashes checks while strengthening his arm.

For me, I believe if you can get a guy that you believe will be a huge difference maker, that franchise cornerstone, multi pro bowler, HoF discussion kind of player, then you pick him no matter what the spot or if the experts say you overdraft him. If he’s a stud, who cares. It’s not like they gave up a bunch of picks to pick him. Travis Frederick was suppose to be a third rounder and the Cowboys got him at 31 and he is/was the best center in the NFL from his second season on.

Having said that, I still don’t like the pick. If he

No one knows anything, least of all media personnel or fans, but they will act like it was obvious and everyone was stupid for not seeing it in 5 years after the outcome is shown.
