I got arrested after drinking all night at the Silver Moon, then leaving there and stealing a fifth of JD from Superfresh, then getting in a fight in the parking lot and running from the cops when they showed up. They caught me behind the Eckards. The took the fifth that I had set in my car and ran the bar code and found out it was stolen and got me on that too.

All that on a weeknight!!

Wasn't there a Daiquiri bar next to the Silver Moon? It was still open when me and my wife lived in Central for a year or two around 2006. Can't remember the name.

Our Place Bar was the GOAT in Central. May it R.I.P. Another frick you to the flood of 2016 that shut it down for good.

Agree. Had some fun there more than a few times after work. Karaoke Friday was a blast. Was in there one Friday night when an Elvis impersonator showed up in flashy white jump suit and pompadour. Mrs M (who I conned in with the promise of dinner+I wouldn't have been able to drive home) and I were sitting at a table at the end of the bar singing back up to Suspicious Minds.

I don’t remember the silver moon at all and I grew up in central in the late 90s-early 2000s

Me and some of my buddies got caught by a sheriffs deputy stealing boxes from the back of blackie’s to go roll a house in Biltmore with when we were like 13. The deputy thought we were stealing liquor

It was a honky tonk type bar in the same shopping center as Oakpoint now but in the early to mid 90s. Right next to what used to be Eckerds. I think it's a CVS now.

Daiquiri Pub. Or, the Pub, as we knew it.

Remember Yogurt D'light! And that movie rental store owned by the big fat man that later opened the short lived golf course on Greenwell Springs. THAT, was a bad idea.

That's it. Me and my wife would go pick up daiquiris there like 12-13 years ago and the same dude was bartending that was there when I was in HS

I moved out of Central the minute I was old enough so even though I’m plenty aware of Blackies, never actually been myself.

Surprising since it’s probably the only drinking establishment in that area I’d like.

I think I know him. When were 15-16, we would wait in the parking lot and approach people going in to buy us a daiquiri. We'd get a X-large, triple shot, blue hawaiian. fricking disgusting, basically liquid because of all the liquor. I should have known I was an alcoholic when my friends could barely drink it and I sucked it up so fast I got brain freeze 12 times in a row.

Another thing that my dad hated

Our place was filled with absolute trash the last couple of times I went. I love a dive but that was past my limit

Back in the early 90s you could pretty much go to a bar and drink when you were 15 around there. I spent many nights in the couple of bars mentioned in this thread in HS
