Oh they definitely know. They also know that the media is equally as invested in this lie/excuse as they are. The dems and the media have spent 2 years claiming they had proof of Trump’s collusion. Neither the dems or the media are honorable enough to admit they were wrong and apologize to the POTUS and the people. So they will continue claiming they have proof of his guilt (a road map, if you will) and that they are charged with oversight in the constitution, yet they will do nothing but talk. The media certainly won’t hold them accountable. I don’t even have faith in Fox anymore. Toddy and Chris Wallace have been with the dems since Trump won the nomination.

All I can say is that these traitors better hope some patriot isn’t diagnosed with a terminal illness anytime soon, as said patriot might take them with him / her.

There is a video going around of Nadler discussing this situation in 1998 just before Clinton was impeached and then discussing it today. His opinion has changed slightly.

interesting story.
Was not mentioned in the Wiki description of his campaign.
They said "Jackson made the fateful decision not to compete in the early Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary, which Jimmy Carter won after liberals split their votes among four other candidates. Though Jackson won the Massachusetts and New York primaries, he dropped out on May 1 after losing the critical Pennsylvania primary to Carter by 12% and running out of money."

I did find a mention of the story in a 1999 review of a book:
"It is difficult to imagine a clumsier operation than the one mounted against Senator Henry (Scoop) Jackson, an implacable foe of the Soviet Union. Overrating Jackson's prospects as a 1976 Presidential candidate, the K.G.B. forged bogus F.B.I. documents alleging that Jackson belonged to a gay sex club."

There are lots of google hits for the story after 2016.
I think the impact of the KGB disinformation might be played up a little in the recent stories.

It tickles me when people think this sort of thing is something new.

World powers have been interfering with foreign elections for decades.

Since WWII no world power has peddled influence in foreign elections more than the U.S.A. and it's not even close.

U.S. long history of influencing foreign elections -L.A. Times

All I remember about him is he was a US Senator (I think) from the state of Washington and maybe former Governor (can't say for sure) and he didn't have a neck. Just from recall - no looking.

I think he died during Reagan's first term because I am pretty sure I was in Italy around that time or either it was right when we invaded Granada or the Marine Barracks in Beirut

Those two event were separated by 2 days.
