This Theory Explains the Return of Palpatine and His Connection to Snoke and Kylo Ren

Link goes much more in depth. This is pretty much what I have been assuming all along minus the fact Plageuis has assumed Kylo’s body. That doesn’t make sense because at the end of Episode VIII Rey battles him to a draw. If Plageuis infected Kylo he should dominate her.

How disappointed will everyone be if we find out the Palpatine stuff is just an old recording or hologram? After the disappointment of TLJ, I just have no real expectations for this one.

That’s a good theory if they had a laid a little more groundwork. Now it’s just an obvious retcon that feels forced. Like in Spectre when they shoehorned Blofeld as the main bad guy behind the rest of the villain in the previous movies.

Ian Mcdiarmid has already said that laugh was used from previous audio and not a new creation specifically for the movie.

No doubt. Abrams really doesn’t have a choice. Spectre, for some reason, decided to retcon everything instead of laying the groundwork for movies going forward.
