The Advocate sports noted that Coach Paul Mainieri has a message for LSU’s no.1 ranked recruiting class and other LSU players who were not originally part of his line up. Judging by his tone, PM seems a bit heated.

Coach Mainieri told The Advocate, “Golden opportunity for all of them. They came to LSU to play, and they’re getting opportunities. It’s time for them to take advantage of it. Nobody on our team can complain they haven’t an opportunity, that’s for sure.”

Yeah he is 100% correct. At some point you have to show why you get to wear that Jersey.

Hey Paul, This is what happens when you set the expectations at mediocre levels and make comments to the media about how “midweek games don’t matter”, and “I don’t get paid to win in March”, and “I’d be ecstatic with 10-5 in the SEC”.

It’s squarely on your shoulders.

Sounds like pretty realistic expectations

I’ve never heard Paul say this once. Skip was quoted saying something similar about Paul.

It’s funny how quickly a midweek game can seem so much more important.

I have
He said it regarding tinkering with the lineup at the start of the season
I don’t get paid to win in March, I get paid to win in June
He has to see what works best to get him to June, went on with explanation of lineup / pitchers who can be counted on...

I’ve also heard Skip say it & it’s a fair statement IMO

I feel like this happens when you put together a group of guys who have been superstars their whole life and have never really faced any adversity. It can create a culture of high expectations without effort.

You know when you see it, talented individuals just going through the motions. They can't figure out why it's not as easy as it used to be when they were pounding high school pitchers and throwing 93 MPH flatliners down the middle of the plate right past batters that are going to be welders and electricians next year.

A team needs a certain number of scrappy guys with steady, untapped potential like a Chris Reid and Kramer Robertson.

Baseball is not like other sports. It's mostly mental.

1. I was going to get on you for not knowing the difference between "their" and "there", until I noticed the New Iberia in your profile.

2. Did he actually say the are "terrible"?

We're in April now so I don't see anything wrong with this statement. Keep winning SEC games and we will be fine.

Dugas was the player I thought could play immediately. Saw him play a bunch in high school. Bad break to lose him when we did.

What about “they’re” idiot? If you’re going to correct him, you should know what you’re talking about yourself.
