What did he do that was so egregious you can suspend him for the tourney, and yet keep him on as coach?

Ask him. Why did it take him 35 days to talk?

He never should have been put in the position in the first place, once again, but they put him in that position.

He knew he would be walking into an ambush! Played their own PR game against them. And he won!

What would it cost to keep you silent for 35 days?

That's a fair question, but the Administration deserves more of the blame.

Drawing a line in the sand that was not needed and that accomplished nothing was short sighted and inflicted self-harm. Good leadership would have handled the situation much, much better even if Wade had the same position.

LSU should have been working to eliminate the concerns Wade had. It should have been "assuring" Wade that the meeting was basically a formality. It should have done so because it was in LSU's best interest.

Furthermore, openly speaking poorly about Wade in the media, insinuating dishonesty was just plain retarded.

In the end, Wade probably could have made a better decision if he were advised by someone who know the NCAA better. But, the Admin's failure to show leadership and manage this crisis was much, much worse than Wade's decision.

I think "it took him 35 days to talk" because he just didn't have the right advice. His original attorney told him he could not risk speaking about the issue with LSU. When he added someone more familiar with this kind of issue to his team, the advice changed and so his strategy changed.

How on earth do you suspend a coach when you know there is no NCAA or Federal investigation, but only rumor? Every coach ever has uttered the statement that was heard on the tape “I made a strong off”.
How on earth when the player is cleared of what you suspect the coach of doing does he stay suspended?
Joe Aleva is a stiff running the program we all love, that’s how.
Should never have happened.

Are you even an LSU fan? Anyone that takes glee in the fact that the Head Coach that built a fantastic team in two short years and led them to a SEC Championship was suspended and not allowed to coach his team in the tournament is not a fan. Sorry.

I don't know how any LSU fan, with a shred of intelligence, can side with the administration on this issue and laugh about our coach not talking to the administration.

Why didn’t Alleva y’all to him in October when we first heard about it? You’re a retard if you think Alleva handled this correctly.

Because he had been subpoenaed to testify at a federal trial and every individual he spoke to at that meeting could have been subpoenaed and anything he said to them could be used against him in a court of law. I don't blame him for keeping his mouth shut. And if you're name was mentioned as part of a federal investigation your lawyer would tell you the same damn thing, don't talk to anybody about this and keep your damn mouth shut!!! Not a complicated matter to understand!!! Unless your fricking stupid!!!
