Need transmission work Lafayette area

I know this isn't outdoors related, but figured I'd get the most help on this board.
Transmission went out in my 2016 Silverado. The dealership wants $5000 to replace it with a rebuilt one with a 3 year/100,000 mile warranty.
Can anyone recommend a shop in the Lafayette area that does good work at a decent price?

I second Lafayette Transmissions on Dulles.
I used them many years ago and was very happy.
Glad they're still in business.

Tell me about it. I have 87000 miles and it started slipping last week. Had it towed to the dealership and they said the pump came apart and burned the thing up. I've never fricked with a transmission, but a guy at work used to work in a tranny shop and said I should be able to get it rebuilt for a lot less than $5K.
I've only owned GMC or Chevy trucks my whole life and usually put upwards of 200,000 miles on them and have never had any issues like this. I don't tow anything except the occasional flat boat and 5x8 trailer w/ 4 wheeler on it.

I’ve used Junior’s in the past off 49 around Carencro, no complaints. A lot of friends recommend Advanced off Bertrand. The shop off Dulles always seems to have a workload, never knew anyone personally that has used them though. Good luck with it.

Just replaced mine in a 2008, $3000 out the door for a "new" reman. Ask for a Jasper brand. They are supposed to be the best. 3yr/100,000 mile warranty

This is where I sent it. Jason called and let me know he already had it on the rack. He seems very knowledgeable and explained everything they were doing and what he expected to find. He's supposed to call me as soon as they pull the pan and let me know what's going on.

I just rebuilt my trans in my 2001 chevy in new Iberia. M&M Transmission. $1760 with new torque converter out the door.
that being said, if it were a 2016 you probly should just go sink it at the boat landing and let insurance get u a new one.

Junior’s rebuilt a Suburban transmission for me and I didn’t have any problems with it until I sold it about 35k miles later. That was the boat hauling car.

Juniors was my 2nd choice and the only reason I went with All A’s is because it’s closer to me. Both places went into detail explaining the problems with the 6L80 transmission and how they use an after market torque converter when they rebuild them. Both guys were very knowledgeable and the prices were comparable.

I have gone to Joe Brown at Acadiana transmission. Very quick and fair and does a great job.

5k is bad but that's for a factory reman installed. I paid 4200 to get a factory reman put in my 02 3/4 ton and that was a 4 speed.
A good shop should be able to rebuild for less, but the 3 year warranty is damn nice too. If you plan to keep the truck for a long time it might be worth the extra grand for factory new.
