The people over there are getting tired of their government. I see a Civil War happening in Iran in the coming years. Will be a nasty Civil War though, very similar to the Syria one

Here come all the anti-Obama regime changers now happily clamoring for regime change!

What obligations do we have, as human beings, to our fellow man who is being assaulted by thugs across the street? When is it okay to stand idly by? When is it not? Does a certain degree of straight-line distance and/or response time change the obligation?

Lead the way. You might start in the Sudan or Libya or maybe Nigeria.

Can’t believe you’re getting down voted.
Bolton is nuts and deserves to be run out of Washington.
frick Iran, but we certainly don’t need a war in the ME, when we have so many domestic issues.

So your saying they are not a terrorist group?
Posted on 4/14/19 at 12:56 pm to I B Freeman
Bolden and Bibi would both be orgasmic if the U.s. attacked Iran.
Ihope it doesn't happen. It would be very bloody, and would pass up the chance to mobilize more Iranians to oppose their government.

what exactly does this have to do with tariffs?

There is never a time in the last 40 years where Iran didn’t deserve to be attacked and also not a time where it would have ever been a good idea. But I take all the Bolton chatter with a grain of salt, he has almost as much fake news attributed to him as President Trump.

Designating the IRGC as a terrorist organization gives the administration the legal right to attack them anywhere in the world.
So yes.
Iran has responded by declaring Centcom a terrorist entity. I assume that means they will limit their retaliation towards Americans in the Middle East.

Let's see--Bolton was a HUGE advocate of invading Iraq. Now he is making policy in the Trump administration.
Trust??? IDK
Just saying.
If that has you concerned, then it probably has the Iranian's concerned as well. Like I said...posturing. I have seen nothing in terms of policy that causes me great concern, even if I am not fully comfortable with this. There is a reason he is the President of the United States and you and I are posting on a message board.

They’ve secured the legal authority to attack Iranian forces.
It’s only a matter of time before they actually do.

Saudi Arabia was responsible for 911. So we share nuclear technology with them.
Iran is a thorn in Israel’s arse. Let’s go to war with them.

good lord this is full of stupid.
Acknowledging a threat and proposing to deal with it is stupid?
I think stupid is ignoring a threat and hoping it goes away.

Iran isn’t a threat to us. They’re a threat to Saudi Arabi and Israel.

Judging Mosaddegh to be unreliable and fearing a Communist takeover in Iran, UK prime minister Winston Churchill and the Eisenhower administration decided to overthrow Iran's government, though the predecessor Truman administration had opposed a coup, fearing the precedent that Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) involvement would set.[17]:3 British intelligence officials' conclusions and the UK government's solicitations were instrumental in initiating and planning the coup, despite the fact that the U.S. government in 1952 had been considering unilateral action (without UK support) to assist the Mosaddegh government.[18][19][20]
Following the coup in 1953, a government under General Fazlollah Zahedi was formed which allowed Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran (Persian for an Iranian king),[21] to rule more firmly as monarch. He relied heavily on United States support to hold on to power.[12][13][14][22] According to the CIA's declassified documents and records, some of the most feared mobsters in Tehran were hired by the CIA to stage pro-Shah riots on 19 August. Other CIA-paid men were brought into Tehran in buses and trucks, and took over the streets of the city.[23] Between 200[3] and 300[4] people were killed because of the conflict. Mosaddegh was arrested, tried and convicted of treason by the Shah's military court. On 21 December 1953, he was sentenced to three years in jail, then placed under house arrest for the remainder of his life.[24][25][26] Other Mosaddegh supporters were imprisoned, and several received the death penalty.[14] After the coup, the Shah continued his rule as monarch for the next 26 years[13][14] until he was overthrown in the Iranian Revolution in 1979.[13][14][17]
