Sick of seeing all the negativity about this kid. Dude is playing his heart out, getting beat up every game. So what if his batting average is low. Who remembers all the pass balls last year? He’s all we got, Gara obviously isn’t ready.

He's definitely been a upgrade over Pap, but today might not be the best day to bring this up. How many runs did Missouri get last night on pass balls/wild pitches? 3? 4?

Yeah, I know...field turf...but still.

Agree on the pass balls last night. Assuming that was all due to the turf opposed to dirt. I’m betting he gets its figured out today after last night.

It’s just a bunch if Nega HATERS. The kid tries hard and is a true Tiger! Doubt any of the complainers could get out there and do any better

Pap was solid in his Junior (?) season.

He had like 11 bombs and batted around .260+, OPS was .896

.240 hitter the year prior.

Mathis is batting like .160's?

(I know, you are talking about fielding)

Just wanted to make that comparison. Both Hal and Brock are wellll below .200

Some of yall take sports way too personal.

We're talking from a perspective of sports performance.

Louisianians are a polite bunch. I doubt anyone here would heckle the guy to his face or in front of his friends or family.

But regardless, it doesnt change the facts on the field. There are many people, IRL that I adore but are terrible at their jobs.

Yeah. I think I've created some kind of mental block regarding last year's team.

He has 10 passed balls this year. I haven't been very high on him as a player, but I don't want to sit here and dog on him relentlessly. However, the excuses people keep making for him don't really hold up under scrutiny.

When it comes to the stolen bases against, yeah, a lot of blame falls on the pitchers. But you still would expect more than 3 or 4 guys thrown out all year long. Collectively, LSU really needs to correct this, and I know the coaches are pointing out to them what they need to do, but the results haven't really changed.

While you've been a fan since your son Mathis has joined the team, we've been fans for years and we reserve the right to call out players not pulling their weight. Mathis cant hit and cant throw anyone out

Anybody in the LSU lineup should at least touch the ball with his bat every so often.
