Expect yet another epic throwdown between the two top dogs in the region, and one that probably goes down to the wire. It may not be a popular opinion around these parts, but I can't help but feel this tight contest will be decided by the biggest positional mismatch on the field. That means it comes down to either Hirving Lozano or Carlos Vela (or more likely both, in turns) against whomever takes up the US left back spot, which means El Tri reclaim the crown. Don't fret, though. Sometimes, tough defeats are also part of the process.

Who is this Left Back that gets us exposed?

If we don’t make the finals will be devastated, planning my bachelor party around it. We better beat Trinidad 3-0, assholes.

It would probably be taken more serious if it wasn't every 2 years.

homey your trope is old. We get it, the gold cup isn’t as good as the euros and should be only every four years. Do you think the African cup of nations is also a joke?

What about accepting an invite to the Copa America? Not just the Centenario one. Not participating in a tourney like that is criminal. They stopped inviting our arse because we've declined so much. I know they didn't like when Mexico sent their B squad last time and it factored into no invite this time. A tourney like the Copa is where players can grow and learn from tough games in tough environments.

Clubs won't have to release our players for the Copa America.

I knew someone was going to bring this up. It's in the middle of the summer. This is not the old ACN played in Jan/Feb. MLS players not called up? Oh well. We have enough European based players to bring a strong 23.

Pretty sure those clubs don't have to release their players either.

If they want to get into a situation like the US had with Kasey Keller when he played under Martin O' Neill at Leicester then that is fricking retarded. Martin was a fricking moron and caused a lot of tension for no reason. Thank God we had Friedel at the same time.

Would there be a reason they theoretically would not want to release the players? Seems like it would be more beneficial than anything for the club to have their guys playing and getting experience.

Some might want their starters to have a break after playing almost non-stop for 9 months.
