Why keep Walton? Why do people think he’s a good coach? Zero evidence of such.

At the very least, he’s replaceable.

I always thought this was by design? Surely they didn’t want him to actually run the team, they just wanted him to just add publicity and lure big-time players to play for the Lakers

The lakers thought there name and city was enough to draw talent.

They got lebron because of those things but lost out on PG and let an “outside” agency make a mockery of their front office.

I am curious to what direction they take because the long game isn’t something they can play. They have a few year to win with James and it’s not like they can spend another year in the lottery.

This press conference is classic Magic. His ego and narcissism are monumental.

I mean, he did basically beat AIDS in the 90s. That was like beating Tyson in his prime. I'd have a pretty big ego too if I whipped AIDS' arse. Testing HIV+ used to basically be a death sentence in those days.

Seriously though, he always seemed likable to me.

He sees the writing on the wall. Get out fast like he did when he was Lakers coach.

He's survived nearly 30 years with HIV. But could only last 9 months with Lebron

This is odd. I wasn't commenting on his health. I'm happy he's still around and healthy.

But he never had AIDS. He was diagnosed as HIV+. And he didn't beat the HIV+ diagnosis. Modern medicine, state-of-the-art drugs (for the time) and unlimited financial resources allowed him to survive and thrive.

So what you're saying is:

LeBron is worse for Magic Johnson than HIV.

But good news Lakers fans; Dell Demps is available.

Just me...I don’t think Magic ever had HIV. I think the NBA wanted to take a stand on HIV and asked Magic to be their spokesperson.

I think it was all a scam to get young people thinking about sexual promiscuity and drugs.

I don't follow the NBA. She really did this? She rejected West and his help/input?

I was kidding around. But seriously, I remember basketball fans crying and stuff because back then anyone who got HIV was dead not long after when it progressed to AIDS. People thought Magic was a goner. One way or the other, he beat the usual fate of those who got HIV.

Yes she said she wanted to go in a different direction when he was asking to join them. That direction was Magic
