I get the overhead aspect of the bar. The service that the bar provides isn't a big deal to me. In my mind, I'm paying for the beer, not typically the atmosphere or service. Which is why I don't mind paying $6 for a pint of beer outside of a bar.

If that’s the case then you’re the exception, not the rule, tbh. You should be drinking at home at that point, it’s a lot cheaper. It’s also worth noting that if these $24 4 pack beers were sold at a bar, they’d be marked up as well. Would you pay $15 for a single serving of one of these beers? Maybe once. But probably not consistently
Edit: basically if you’re just drinking at home and buy a better quality beer since you’re saving the money from not drinking at a bar, that’s cool. But it’s still a huge markup, and the principle of that turns a lot of people off

At a bar you pay for the entertainment value and atmosphere of a bar. There is also the fact that they pour your beer for you and then do the dishes for you after.
I also think with alot of these beers, its more about just trying it once to see what it tastes like. I would be more willing to buy one of these for $8 or $9 instead of 4 for $24.
