Another example of “slippery slope” being real

LINK
It started with the Christian baker refusing service to a homosexual wedding. In that circumstance, regardless of what side you were on, at least there were reasonable arguments to be made on both sides of the issue IMO.
So now it comes to this. Chick-FIL-A has no history of discriminating against anyone in regards to who they serve or who they hire. But now government is attacking them purely based on the owners PERSONAL religious beliefs.
It is only happening at the state and local level right now, but this is extremely scary. Because you know if the right people gain power again in the Federal government, things like this WILL be pushed on the federal level.

It's unbelievably insane than a state would try and ban a business simply because the CEO in an interview said that he believes in traditional marriage.

When that's the official motto of your political ideology, it makes perfect sense.

Left sets whatever narrative they want. Then everyone runs with it and you can’t say otherwise. Way of the new world.

Have some upvotes... this topic would certainly be a qualifier for me in the "what rubs you the wrong way" thread.

An owner who is now deceased, no less. They're basically discriminating against Chikfila for being founded by a Christian and following Christian principles in their business. THIS is what should be protected under the first amendment.

This is Fabian Socialism.
Whenever a liberal pundit says “no one in the mainstream Democratic Party is saying...” it should be followed by “yet.”
“No one in the mainstream Democratic Party is saying we want to confiscate ppl’s guns...yet”
“No one in the mainstream Democratic Party is saying we want to allow abortion up to the minute of delivery...yet”
“No one in the mainstream Democratic Party is saying we want to have open borders...yet”
“No one in the mainstream Democratic Party is saying we want to raise the top tax rate to 80%...yet”
“No one in the mainstream Democratic Party is saying we want to enact reparations...yet”
Thankfully, AOC and company are forcing the Party elders to acknowledge what the Democrats’ long term goals truly are (all of the above and more). Let’s just hope that it scares the hell out of the moderates in this country.

It's funny how you guys are all about the free market until it starts hurting your feelings.

Are you a moron. This has nothing to do with a free market. This is fascism. And religious oppression. Thankful my church still preaches romans and the truth about gays. Instead of accepting them.. true love is telling the truth about their eternal state of hell.

A slippery slope fallacy is only a fallacy when you can’t show a logical progression down the slope.

Banning one of the most profitable restaurants on a unit basis doesn’t sound very “for profit” to me.

frick you
This is nothing to do with the God damn "free market". These are quasi government entities doing this shite. I ought to have the freedom to buy a God damned chicken sandwich in an airport.
Are you slow? Nobody ever called you the "smart one" did they? How can you be so stupid with everything you post?

Under contract by whom? Start with your local airport. Who owns ATL?
C'mon... you can say it.

It does when your clientele express a wish not to associate with their bigoted and backward beliefs.

What bigoted and backwards beliefs are you speaking of?
Also, was their spot taken away due to poor sales? public outcry? Or was it so they could virtue signal
Yep. Real free market in action right there

a local assemblyman did his part to stop any future plans. New York Assemblyman Sean Ryan slammed the NFTA on Twitter, saying it was “disappointing” the airport would allow a restaurant that “has a long history of supporting and funding anti-LGBTQ organizations. I strongly urge the NFTA to reverse this decision,” Ryan wrote.
"I don’t believe the leadership of the NFTA intends to help spread hate and discrimination, but allowing a corporation like Chick-fil-A to do business at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport will help to fund continued divisive anti-LGBTQ rhetoric. New York is a welcoming state that celebrates diversity.”
The Democratic lawmaker continued, saying, “We hope in the future the NFTA will make every effort to contract with businesses that adhere to anti-discrimination policies, and we’re confident another vendor who better represents the values of the Western New York community will replace Chick-fil-A as a part of this project in the very near future”
Yep. Real free market in action right there

In a free market, the decision on who gets the space at the airport would be based on the best bid and the amount of tax revenue they could provide.

The San Antonio ban was enacted by the City Council.
