quote:

The doors and hard top will be removable. Following in the path of the Wrangler—which has offered these features for years—and other old-school off-roaders, the new Bronco will be customizable with the doors and top able to be stashed in the cargo hold. Unlike the Jeep, its side mirrors are affixed to the A-pillars and stay in place when the doors are removed.

quote:

The grille says "Bronco" across the front. This follows Ford's practice of giving its trucks and SUVs bold grilles; the Raptor, for example, features a huge "FORD" across its front end.

quote:

There will be a spare tire on the back. No "tire mobility kit" or dinky donut here.

quote:

The SUV has retro boxy styling. Like the Broncos of yore—think 1965, not 1996—the new version sports a rectangular grille, round headlights, and a squared-off profile.

quote:

It may offer a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 as the top-spec engine. The V-6 delivers 325 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque in the F-150. There is likely to be a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder option offered as well.

quote:

Ford might offer a seven-speed manual. There will of course be an automatic transmission, almost assuredly the 10-speed unit co-developed with GM. But some reports suggest Ford has tapped Getrag to supply a seven-speed manual. Fingers crossed!
There will definitely be a hybrid version. Ford has already gone on record that the Bronco will be electrified in some way, and we'd expect some version of the system that will be available in the new Explorer

Fan concept only vv

Re: concept art, I thought it was confirmed several months back that it would only be offered as a 4-door.

Needs 2-tone color blocking between the body and roof to feel like a Bronco.

Heck yeah...Loved the first gen bronco. My dad had a '77 (last year of gen 1) and it was awesome (yet horrible at the same time).

His looked a lot like this one...(except, the '77 was the only gen 1 with gas cap covers).

I love going back to a short wheelbase unit.

I hope it doesn't end up looking like the H2 or H3. Some of concepts seem to be trending in that direction.

Honestly, I don't know why car manufactures don't just replicate older models and add some updated features. Take the '78-'80, and add power locks/windows and a USB port.

This is the actual Bronco pic, released by Ford. FWIW.

I read it's going to be based off of the Ranger. Probably won't look anything like the concept.

No. That rumor is based on the fact that they've been concealing the Bronco prototypes under Ranger bodies during testing. Experts say that suggests it has an independent front suspension, but little else.

These can be stowed on board, apparently.

Not worth it. The only time that riding without the top and doors is even possible is very few and you can't go over 45mph. Any faster and it is a miserable experience. The only thing that riding without the top is good for is getting college girls to take their shirts off during spring break or when you are mudding or rock-climbing.

New Ford Bronco

Beginning to think this is a long troll job. I've been hearing about this thing for at least 4 years now. And I dont think I've seen a real photo with Ford approval yet.
