Physics 2001 in the summer

Anyone have an opinion on taking Physics 2001 in the summer? I’ve never heard anything but how hard physics is at LSU. Will it be worse as an online class in the summer with D Young? Bad idea?

I took a calc class in the summer at LSU, it was like drinking water through a firehose to me, real fast, had to actually go home and study to keep up

Take Rupnik. I hear she’s a real treat.

2001 is physics for non science majors?

I took PHYS 2113 in the summer and it was very easy. To be fair though I was a physics major
I never had Dr. Young as a teacher, but he's the advisor for physics majors and he's a pretty cool guy. Very helpful and he doesn't seem like a hardass.
Just for the love of god, avoid Rupnik and Moreno at all costs if you can

This sums it up. If you can get Young, take it. If not don't.
I had a 48 average going into my final. Went to him a few times outside of class before the final. He helped me A LOT. The last session before the final, I asked him if I'd be alright. His exact words were, "Anyone who comes to class consistently, meets with me after, and generally gives a shite, will pass."
He passed me with a 72 (C) after the curve. It was mathematically impossible for me to make that.

Doesn't surprise me, he seemed like the kind of guy that would do that.
It's really a crapshoot in the physics department if you're gonna get the professor that basically gives out B's and curves like hell at the end or the hardass professor that takes 10 points off for a rounding error.
Neither of these really happen though in the department wide courses like PHY 2110 during a regular semester, because it's usually multiple professors and TA's that do the grading. It can be a gamble though for upper level and summer classes

At tech, all of our classes are 3 months. I can’t compare it to taking semester classes but I don’t find it difficult
I prefer online classes but not for tough classes. I failed online chemistry and I really struggled with algebra online having to get a tutor. It’s harder when you can’t ask the teacher questions if you don’t understand something

It’s a tough class. Taking it in the summer isn’t a bad idea. You won’t be so hampered with a heavy course load and can spend more time studying. I reccomend to practice problems as much as you can stand to. The concepts of physics will be easy to learn. The math is what kicked my arse. I’m not a numbers guy. I can recall just about anything i read, but when it came to numbers, it was pure hell.

Just give up baw. You’re not gonna make it in construction management
Drop out and go into engineering

Not bad at all. Take Mesa if she is available. She's hot as hell too.

All I have to say about Mesa is that she would always have an essential oil diffuser going in her office and it would smell up the entire hallway. Would always be this eucalyptus stuff that smelled bad.

That’s the non science major one.
If you don’t keep up with it yes it can be hard.
It can be hard also if you are stupid.
Do you get trig concepts?
Do you get rationally thinking about problems?
If you answered no to these questions then you will maybe pass with a d in spring and fall.
In summer you’ll make an f.

I thought Phys2101 was relatively easy. 2102 was a bitch. Probably my hardest class while at LSU and I double majored in chemistry and biochemistry taking all the upper level chemistry classes and calculus 1-2, diff eq and multidimensional.
