Today @PelicansNBA owner Gayle Benson said the franchise will soon look at 5-6 candidates for the GM job. Talking to multiple @NBA sources I trust, I think four of the people Gayle is referencing (under consideration) are:
Danny Ferry
David Griffin
Trajan Langdon
Gersson Rosas

Cgrand posted this on page 4 of other thread but figured it deserves its own thread.

He would be who I want last. I've made my point about that a few times on here.

I researched Langdon. He shows promise. Griffin is the one I like least.

fun bunch doesn't like the perception of Ferry being GM being the white supremacy neo nazi guy but was ok with him being backdoor asst gm.

That has nothing to do with it, although yes, I have said I am not a fan of that talking point.

It has to do with POWER. An internal hire cannot demand the same power that an external candidate could. In theory.

And honestly I would just rather an outside hire. I don't want anyone with any ties to the organization, we need a completely fresh start and fresh eyes to look at this thing top to bottom and revamp.

He was a Scout with the Spurs.

Has consideration is coming with his work with the Nets as Assistant GM the past 2 years.

I like Langdon. His lack of experience scares the frick out of me. If we had a POBO and he was going to be GM, I would love it.

But him running the entire ship is pretty goddamned risky. Would either be a visionary hire or a total disaster.

If you listened to her interview, it did not seem like Danny was in consideration for the job:

“Alvin has done an incredible job with his work there, and so has Danny and um, but we are gonna get a GM, a permanent person and then we'll have those issues hopefully resolved."

Oh lord. Lauscha said the identity of the consultant would be revealed soon and we should start to hear names for the first round of interviews within a couple of weeks.

I didn’t realize Langdon was in the GM game. Loved him at Duke.

I’m with you on this. Sometimes hiring from within can be a great idea, sometimes teams miss the boat not doing so. At this point with the Pels, this is not the case. We need major overhaul top to bottom as we transition from the AD era

If we were to name Ferry as new GM; my concern would be that he would hire Dell Demps as his outside consultant!!
