Cool story and it sounds like you both are good/decent people. Thanks for a pleasant story this morning

Good job helping the young man out. Sounds like he has things turned in the right direction

No. But, I do remember that. The memes that incident spawned on the X-ray Hands Facebook page were gold. Sucked for that company, though. Major fines and violations.

Reminds me of the radiation safety film back in tech school of the guy that found a source and put it in his back pocket.

Or the guy that picked one up and held it for a while....will never get those images out of my head of a hand the size of a catcher's mitt before the fingers started rotting away....

Do you all disposition findings above Code allowables? I’ve been doing Level 3 API-579 analyses for a dozen years or so, but I’ve never worked for someone who had enough crack growth work for it to be full time. It’s about 1/3 of my work now, but I have to educate my bosses on the need...no one really understands plastic collapse or limit load analyses, everyone is stuck in LEFM.

Y’all leave it up to the customer to disposition, or is mostly everything just ground out and fixed? Our customer would rather pay for the Use-As-Is disposition, but again, there’s not a whole lot of vessels that need the full FAD treatment.

I commend you. Dealing with an addict trying to get sober can really only go 1 of 2 ways. They either destroy everything, or become one of your best employees. There’s no middle ground, in my experience.

These stories are so much better than the faux outrage and self-defined trashiness that happens every day. Thanks
