Pathetic is that we have players in twinkle toes Program that are not any bigger after 3-4 years here. We only have 2 players in the regular lineup 200 lbs or more. If you think we are going to Punch and Judy our way to the promise land you are a fool and therefore pathetic. Maybe we can go do some hot yoga with twinkle toes. PAUL!!!!

I get that people want to put a bow on everything to make it look better, and say that the other team had great pitching. There is usually some truth to that argument, and this case is no different.
However, if you are a top ten team, with some veterans who are supposed to be better, you shouldn't be happy as a fan or as a member of the team, that you are having THIS much trouble scoring runs. You have to be better. Your freshman throws 7.1 scoreless innings until we inexplicably put in a struggling Peterson, and he allowed both inherited runners to score. Even still, when you get that overall performance on the mound from your starter, you gotta make it count.
At some point, the offense will come around. It has to. But looking ahead to a turnaround doesn't make 1 run in 18 innings ok. I'm sure Georgia fans are saying the same thing about their offense this weekend. But their team doesn't have near the talent in their lineup as LSU does. Especially our top 5.

Obviously you realize Georgia has one of the best pitching staffs in the country. Smh. Try hitting a 93-98 mph fastball consistently.

This has been two top notch pitching duels.

Someone get this dude a bat, so he can score some for us!

Smith Watson and Cabrera are all under your 200 pound limit and all have some pop in their bat. Power isn’t all about size.

We get it, you don’t know anything about baseball

1 fricking run in 20 innings is absolutely pathetic and is only exasperated by the stellar pitching we have had.

Frustrating for sure, but I feel like we're due to break out today. Already some well-hit balls.
But, at some point, the "former player jobs program" coaching staff needs to be addressed.

I remember when LSU would crush a pitcher like that. It was the garbage pitchers that gave them fits.

Top of the third, the BEST hitter of the three due up is hitting .236!

LSU's lefthanded batters are 3-18 the last 2 days against their LHP. This will continue to be a problem as we face better pitchers. Our best hitters are indeed LH, but they are at a severe disadvantage paired up against LHP. We do not have the RH hitters to pick up the slack. And you can't sit the LH guys because they are out best hitters.

Size does not make someone hit. I’m sorry you think it does.

Mainieri has a way of getting the team to peak at the right time, but the hitting has been abysmal. Against any team with decent arms we look like an also ran. Something needs to give... coaching, approach, something.
I refuse to believe that with all of our talent we cannot perform better.

I get that all of these "former player" assistants were successful at the college level, and should theoretically be able to pass that along to the current players. But maybe what made them successful was the coaching of some assistants who had spent a LONG time around the game, had seen a lot more, and could help players improve or better diagnose why they were in a funk. I think the nepotism on the LSU baseball staff is a contributing factor to why this team has underperformed over the last decade. But once a guy wins a championship, you can't tell them anything. They know everything and stop improving.

Okay great. Go find a successful, experienced coach to come volunteer at lsu.
