The New Orleans Saints showed up big for the LSU Tigers pro day in Baton Rouge, sending every available coach and front office executive up to survey some talented draft prospects. General manager Mickey Loomis and assistant GM/college scouting director Jeff Ireland led the group, while head coach Sean Payton was absent — likely preparing for upcoming NFL owner’s meetings in Phoenix, scheduled for March 24 to March 27. Payton is a member of the NFL competition committee, which will be actively involved in the offseason meetings.
Saints defensive backs coaches Aaron Glenn and Peter Giunta were spotted coordinating drills for the Tigers’ safeties and cornerbacks, including top prospect Greedy Williams. Standout defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence was seen chatting with Saints defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen and defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. Nielsen also took time to catch up with head coach Ed Orgeron; Nielsen worked on Orgeron’s staff early in his career.
Additionally, Larry Holder of the Athletic reported that the Saints were “paying close attention” to tight end Foster Moreau, an ascendant prospect after he crushed workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine. Moreau is a skilled blocker who wasn’t tasked with running many routes at LSU, and could make sense for the Saints in the later rounds of the draft.
The Saints send a big group to LSU’s pro day every year, but rarely draft players from the big program just up the road. It’s become fodder for jokes among fans to write off the excursion, but last year’s seventh round selection of offfensive lineman Will Clapp could mean a change is in the works.

Wonder if Will Clapp still lives with his parents in Metairie. He should keep that going as long as he can and just bank his paychecks.

It appears Greedy shrunk an inch and a quarter from the combine to pro day.

You think the 22 year old NFL star in his hometown wants to bring girls home to his parents crib?
