of a cop. And criminal trespassing, and resisting.

quote:

The executive director of Louisiana’s Republican Party was arrested on allegations that he shoved a New Orleans Police Department officer escorting him into a Pontchartrain Hotel elevator during an early-morning encounter hours after his wedding last week, according to court records.

Court records said that a manager and NOPD officer had asked Andrew Bautsch, 31, to leave an unnamed establishment at the hotel in the 2000 block of St. Charles Avenue about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. But Bautsch allegedly would not get onto an elevator leading out.

quote:

The state GOP announced that it had hired Bautsch to its highest ranking, full-time staff position in April of last year. According to the statement announcing his hire, his job includes managing the state party’s daily operations and budget while acting as a liaison for the organization with elected officials and candidates at the local, state and federal levels.

Publicly available information online listed Bautsch's wedding day as Friday.

let's see if the GOP acts like the democrats and gets some pastors in front of the cameras to defend him, bury the story, then let him keep his job

OP loves governor coonman because he has the correct party affiliation. Same goes for the rapist lt gov.

Blackface and sexual assault are only bad if you don't have the correct bonafides

I bet none of you guys were drunk on your wedding night.

His groomsmen/best man should have never let it get to that point.

Sad story

On the one hand, I cut the guy some slack for getting drunk at his wedding. And the charge is battery not assault, so meh.

On the other hand, dude you are in the public eye, try not to screw up.

saw what you edited from, not really interested in it but could see why you'd want to keep it to yourself

out of curiosity, is he from LA or is he a party transplant? what about his new wife?

and is it normal to have people this young & volatile directing statewide major parties?

The executive director of the LA GOP shouldn't be held accountable and take personal responsibility

And he survived this encounter? The NOPD has gotten soft.

He's a local. Not a hot head at all. Very successful career so far. He's always got irons in the fire.

Trust me, this isn't typical behavior for Andrew. I'm now hearing that the cop was in street clothes and was being aggressive to the family in the elevator.

This could get interesting...
