you expect colleges to modify their schedule (which affects the plans of another school) because of personal events in a coach's life? Good god, man.

The game will be played. The only thing in question is if Paul M will coach. I would assume he wouldn’t. At least If it was me I would probably be with my family instead

Most coaches/players actually do coach/play when things like this happen. I don't get it and I probably couldn't, but it happens over all sports and leagues.

We had a player in high school who’s mom died a few days before a football game on Friday night. He said there was no where else he wanted to be then playing with his teammates that night. A lot of players and coaches are like that at all levels

His dad was a coach. I would imagine there is no place in this world he would feel closer to his dad than in the dugout.
Paul will be there

It was more likely that he would coach because that's the main thing they had together.

i played a baseball game the night my grandfather passed.
he was a big influence in my life. and was a HUGE baseball fan.
being on that field was both a getaway and a moment with him.
that and he would have been PISSED if i missed that game.

I remember Chuck Tanner managing the Pittsburgh Pirates during the 79 World Series the day his mother died. Pirates were down 3-1 against the Orioles and came back to win the championship for him.

Coaches and players focus so intently during games that they often find it to be a nice little escape from the suck that is real life.

Life goes on. Yes, there will be game, with or without Coach.
