So I believe pretty much all fans of the MCU would consider 2013 to be the worst year yet for the MCU with Iron Man 3 and Thor:The Dark World being their 2 releases.

But which year is the best to you?

2014, the year of redemption:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy

2017, the space with home sandwich:
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Thor Ragnarok

2018, little bit of everything:
Black Panther
Infinity War
Ant-Man and the Wasp.

2008 baby. Iron man. I’ll never forget seeing that with my brother not even knowing the absolute awesome adventure it was gonna take us on. It’s been great.

2008 only had one official Marvel Studios release. Yes I know Hulk is in the MCU but it’s not the same.

Black Panther and Spiderman into the spiderverse. Oscar winners. Love them.

I’ll go with 2014. Coming off the high of the Phase 1 movies, I had been excited then disappointed by the movies of 2013. Winter Soldier is my favorite of all the MCU so it restored my excitement. GOTG was also a pleasant surprise.

I like 2017.

The rewatchability of Ragnarok and Homecoming puts it over the top.

I’m gonna get technical on you and say May 2011 to May 2012. They really opened up the broader story arc in that time that is still in play.

The year they got rid of the creative council and Feige started reporting directly to Iger.

Iron Man 1. Bought so much goodwill that no single film could sink the franchise

I’d agree 2014 because I was so hype after The Avengers capped off a great opening set of movies and wasn’t necessarily disappointed by Iron Man 3 and Thor 2, I just wasn’t expecting what I got and I became less excited.

Then winter soldier came out and then Guardians and I was one of the few that really liked Ultron despite its flaws and really liked Ant Man after that but WS and Guardians helped renew my hype. Then Civil War came out and after that I was completely invested.

2017 was damn good too though. Guardians 2 is underrated and Homecoming and Ragnarok were great. Probably the most disappointed and under achieving MCU film to me was Black Panther. But it didn’t ruin anything because Infinity War came right after it

In terms of film quality: 2014

In terms of enjoyability and fun: 2017

In terms of pure spectacle and WOW: 2018

And while CM being a bottom 5 MCU movie for me would normally take 2019 out of the running, I'm willing to wait to see what happens with endgame and far from home

If endgame delivers what we all hope and if far from home establishes the post endgame universe well, I'll rate 2019 pretty damn strongly
