Looks like the lump is on fire like the old days. Some some post with what looked like 10-15 boats in the background. If so pace yourself don’t stay on a rod longer than 30mins or so with a big fish, saying you landed one by yourself is not worth the pain the next day!!
Is it a charter or a buddies boat trip? Big difference in the amount of physical effort required for one versus the other.

Run down river in the morning can be chilly. Depdending on temp you may want to bring a jacket to wear and then stow

No idea on the name of the boat. Vendor sponsored trip. I was just told when we were leaving.

My cousins boyfriend charters down there. Posted pics of a good trip. Couple swords, a few mahi, & some wahoo. May have had some tuna too.

Bring a big Ice chest, and warm clothes/rain gear for the river. Running river will be chilly and fog will keep you wet on ride out and in regardless of rain.

And leave a nice tip for the deckhand

Mid 70s for highs this weekend. Chances are it will be foggy. Be safe.

IMO: If it’s your first trip I’d recommend not passing the stick. Especially if it’s your first big yella boy. Go to war on that joker!! You will have a lot more time to heal vs opportunities to battle them big boys.

That being said, no shame in sharing a fight after you’ve been a bunch!

Yeah I guess something to be said about boating your first, iv just seem to many guys not want to “wimp” out end up miserable the rest of the day after lengthy fight on a plus 100 pounder.

Whatever you do don’t bend at the waist. You’ll only last a couple of minutes. Keep your back straight and bend your knees like you’re going to sit in a chair.

Don't get drunk the night before or you will be wasting a trip.

Stay clear of the rods till the deck hand tells you to. Listen to the deck hand on how to fight a tuna. There is more to it then just reeling up a fish. The right way, no problem, the wrong way, the fish is going to kick your arse. Had many so called big men have their asses wiped by tuna cause they wouldn't listen and would have to give up the rod.

No black sole shoes that will mark the deck.

No dam glass bottles.

Running the river, it's going to be a cold ride. Once offshore, things warm up nice.

If you're at all prone to motion sickness, either take some dramamine an hour BEFORE you get on the boat (once you're out there it is too late) or get an Rx for the scopolamine patch to put behind your ear. Dramamine is OTC but it makes some people really really drowsy.

ETA: and no damn bananas! That'll get you turned into shark bait in no time!
