Going there for two nights with family...Going to Husk the first night...will my teenage kids like this place?

Need another place for the second night...staying downtown. This is what a travel agent friend sent to me for places to check out for the trip:

Adele's -cool restaurant in a converted garage LINK

Monelle's (good southern home cooking) LINK

Martin's BBQ joint (several locations) LINK

Biscuit Love- the Gulch area and Hillsborough Village (I prefer this location) LINK

Pancake Pantry- a Nashville legend (across from Biscuit Love in Hillsborough) - there is usually a wait in line but it moves quickly. Worth the wait in my opinion.

Husk-LINK More modern southern cooking in a cute house

Hattie B's Hot Chicken (line gets long so get there early when it opens)-- fabulous fried chicken
LINK /

Margot Cafe LINK - French/Italian food in East Nashville

Fifth and Taylor- in Germantown LINK

Von Elrod's Beer Hall and Kitchen near Tennesse Park- large, family friendly German-style beer Hall

Any others to consider?

Biscuit Love for sure!
Add Edley's BBQ to your list to check out too.

Other than waiting in line outside, the most enjoyable breakfast I've ever had was at Biscuit Love. My wife and I ate at the one in Gulch. Wish we gone there every morning.

for brunch, the southern near broadway (downtown) is a good place to go.

for steaks, we liked sperry's in belle meade. kayne prime is also another good one, but i like the "old school" steak houses better. better vibe to me.

the pharmacy has a good burger and shake.

and lockeland table serves really good american type, neighborhood food. located in a residential area (east nashville), cool setting and vibe - farm to table type dishes. their chocolate chip skillet cookie with ice cream is delicious.

Etch was incredible when I went and if you're staying downtown it should be convenient for you. The hot chicken is a must try at some point, I had Bolton's and it was great but I'd imagine Hattie B's, Boltons or Princes are all good. Martin's BBQ joint is also a good lunch spot.

I'd add that I think City House is the most recent James Beard winner, it has great reviews but I've never been.

Better than Boltons. Dont let anyone else lie to you.

Cancel this reservation. Go to Butcher and Bee instead. I was extremely disappointed with Husk.

this was one of my favorite restaurants in the nashville area.

Homestead Manor

much of their produce is grown on site.

quote:

Homestead Manor is a property in Thompson Station, Tennessee that dates from 1809 and that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. It includes Georgian architecture. It has been operated as a restaurant in recent years. There is a 50-acre conservation easement.

scratch that, apparently they just closed on 2/24.

I don't think you could go wrong with anything on your list. I slightly prefer Edley's over Martins BBQ but they're both really good.

I have found the lines at the Hattie B's on Charlotte to be more manageable than the other locations.

Husk and Butcher and Bee are both Charleston joints. I am certainly not telling you which restaurants to choose, but I wouldn't go to a SC joint when visiting another city.

Just giving you a heads up.

For BBQ, I prefer Peg Leg Porker. Other than that, the options you have and what others have said is a pretty good list.

One of my favorite restaurant experiences ever was as the catbird seat, but I don't think your teenagers would appreciate it as much as adults.

Pinewood social is fun with a bowling alley in back. Good food overall too and a cool vibe

You might contact the owner of this site, there’s allegedly a search function for inquiries such as yours.

Good day, sir.
