She basically said that an opinion about a movie has less value depending on the color of that persons skin.
I get what she is trying to say and it would make sense in the context of a story MADE for a minority or representative of a minority group.......not a movie adaptation which shoehorned minority characters in it like Wrinkle In Time or Annie for Christs sake!

I feel like one has to be looking to clock themselves in victimhood not to see the logic in her comments.
When I was in college I would occasionally read and watch Sikel and Ebert reviews and while I knew if they gave two thumbs up it was likely to be a good movie if somewhat on the literature level but if I went by them I would have never seen Friday. It would have been very useful to me at the time to have had reviewers that aligned with my age and mentality at the time to help sort between the Friday and Friday After Next type movies.
