Is Mardi Gras overrated?

I used to really like Mardi Gras as a child because of the random toys and stuff people would throw from the floats, liked it even more as a 16 year old because of how easy it was to get drunk and high with my friends.
Now that ive reached the age where getting piss drunk is less appealing, Mardi Gras kind of sucks. Just a bunch of dumbass people, mostly tourists, throwing garbage and puking all over the streets. Not to mention that it’s a pain in the arse to drive anywhere around town. What are the OT’s thoughts on the carnival season?

It’s definitely overrated. Honestly, Mardi Gras was the best when I was a kid and only cared about getting beads, hats, toys, and whatever else they’d throw off the floats

Very overrated, used to be sort of fun, but wouldn't go down there for nothing in the world now. Just like this morning. innocent woman bystander shot and killed by a stray bullet on Bourbon street. Not worth my life to be down there in this time of year, although I guess that can happen anytime and at anyplace.

The number 1 defense I hear of mardi gras is that it’s an excuse to get drunk. I’m an adult. I don’t need an excuse.

Mardi Gras is overrated. New Orleans is the only city ever.

I do drink occasionally but I don’t go hard in the paint like I did when I was underage. Just enjoy a beer here and there or a glass of scotch. Guess I’m aging too fast
