....and you think that there’s no alternative motives with Alabama commits and recruits?

when it comes to LSU? There’s a puppet master behind these kids doing these type of things. Check out Shea’s comments on Trey Sanders and what he told the staff for the UGA game.
Think Sanders “being a part of this class,” at some point in the cycle, would have negatively effected the recruitment of Emery and/or Davis looking elsewhere? Maybe Emery sticking with UGA and Davis looking at BAMA a little harder without Sanders (until he flipped on NSD)?
Smoke and mirrors.

Smoke and mirrors.
quote:
Shea: There was a ton of smoke around Trey Sanders and LSU and for good reason. It was leaking out a bit that he had told the LSU side that his interest was high enough to hand over a silent commitment if the visit went well. But Sanders ended up not even visiting for the Alabama game, and it was an odd stretch because Emery decommitted from Georgia a couple weeks prior and then committed to LSU soon after the Alabama game in November. But there was a time in there where LSU had made some headway after only being a dark horse.
quote:
Billy: As we heard, heading into the Alabama game weekend, Trey Sanders wanted to officially visit LSU and had told them he was going to commit on the visit. I think LSU saw through this a bit and let him know they wanted him to come, but save the official visit for late in the process. Sanders signed with Alabama after LSU landed John Emery and Tyrion Davis.

Sanders was never coming here. This would’ve been another sophser situation, dude was all bama all along. Glad we didn’t waste a ton of time with him, I’d take emery over him any day of the week anyway.
Plus we got emery and Davis, didn’t need him

Well Trey Sanders and the midget at Bama can both eat a whole bag of dicks.

that's pretty much what the OP is saying

I honestly think the smoke was real but LSU had Emery higher on their board. Another interesting thing I heard was Tyrion Davis was the top RB on UGAs board and I think he was high on Bamas board too.

I think the Op is trying to say that these recruiters know where they’re going and tell each other that’s why Sanders didn’t visit because he knew Emery who’s coming to the Georgia game and probably silent commit Then later decommit from Georgia

Emery is better than Sanders, and Davis is the perfect compliment. The Sanders smoke was very real, him and Marcel are tight.

On a side note, I heard hints of very outlandish stories on Sanders ‘deal’ to Bama. Something about the highest ever... anyone have any insight on those $torie$?

Wrong.
Had we not had legit interest from Emery, I think we could have pulled Sanders.
Also, he wasn't all bama ALL along. He was headed to UGA until bama dropped the brinks truck ($$$,$$$) to him the morning of signing day.

The coaches know these things and I don't think get fooled very often.
But the coaches are salesmen, and these recruits are the customers. I have customers lie and fool me sometimes. It happens.

Nick Saban plays this chess like Bobby Fisher, good buddies.
I hate him so hard!

This kind of criticism rings hollow.
Saban was hired by the University of Alabama to win football games and championships. He seems to leave no stone upturned to get a competitive advantage. If it's using one of his recruits to dissuade other recruits from coming here or going elsewhere, why wouldn't he?
We (LSU) don't control that. But can control who we hire as OC.

Another interesting note
Sophser was on the bottom of ALs board, and was only a take when they had the room.
Every other DL they took was higher on their board, but he still got more from them than he will/would ever earn with actual performance on the field, IMO
