inconsequential.
It just means no more good memes, but My body is ready will live forever I'm sure.
Reggie was great at what he did, but what he did was promote and sell Nintendo with some weird level of charm that we'll never understand.
I'd actually argue he might have been the block in some of the non-US releases, but that's just a guess. I'm not sure how close he was to the American development studios though, that may be a blow.

While I don't think it's anything, and the old guard is getting old at Nintendo: him retiring could end up on either side of good or bad.
A Japanese first company like Sony or Nintendo means the American President isn't much more than a PR and advertising guy compared to having say in what games come to the system guy.

You mean quitting while on top? Switch is doing incredibly well right now.
