Is bipartisanship bad for the country?

I have been told multiple times on this board that moderates are spineless people who believe in nothing and cause damage to our society by failing to take a stand.
When you take that to its logical conclusion, does that mean that bipartisan government or legislation is bad for the country? After all, when something is considered bipartisan, it is often the product of compromise and is a moderate version of the idealogically pure stands each side began with.
Curious as to your feelings on this.

Bipartisanship gets us:
-War on Terror
-Patriot Act
-Deficits
-Iraq War
-FISA
-NSA spying
-Corporate bailouts
Bipartisanship has destroyed this country.

No partisanship is what’s hurting the country

I would disagree, since I consider myself to be one.

And you would be Senator or Congressman who?

Truly ideological bipartisanship would likely be ok. Two opponents having to figure out a balance that works.
When you add in special interests/lobbyists/pork/etc. it's just a shite show that never truly works.

Can you link me to a post that says this?

It is my belief that government should do as little as possible, i.e. be a very limited government. It follows that gridlock is generally a good thing.
Therefore, only extremely compelling need in keeping with our Constitution, should bring forth legislation. (I think we are beyond the point where we could hope for our legislators stripping the millions of unnecessary and unconstitutional laws and regulations from our code.)
The only thing that our congress seems to agree to on in a bipartisan way is spending us into collapse. That's the kind of bipartisanship we don't need. I vote for gridlock.

Good Points
Most of those were Republicans snookering Democrats

That is a joke. Our country depends on bipartisanship to function.

True bipartisanship, sure. But what we have is a self serving dog and pony show that is more consumed with making the other side look bad than progressing as a whole.

The term "moderate", without further explanation, is utterly worthless.
In my experience, bipartisan legislation tend to erode freedom at the same rate as partisan legislation. So, no, it's not "good."

One issue is that people mean different things by "bipartisan."
Three different things it could mean:
1. Moderation: Imagine an ideological spectrum ranging from 0 (extremely liberal) to 10 (extremely conservative). If you have a bunch of 4's, 5's, and 6's you have one type of partisanship since they all kinda meet in the middle.
2. Compromise: Now imagine two very polarized groups. Say a bunch of 0-3's and 8-10's from the previous scale. To get stuff done, they may compromise. This might end up looking like #1 above or it might be the group in the majority throws the group in a minority a bone on a few issues. Of course this gets more complicated with a house, senate and president.
3. Collegiality: This is more about tone and relationships than policy results. A group of conservatives might push for tax cuts, but not refer to the other side as blood sucking, socialist leaches; just as a group of leftists might push for more government funded social/medical programs without calling the other side racists who hate children and want to push the elderly off cliffs.
At the end of the day, we have to remember bipartisanship is not a goal in itself. It is a tool to achieve policy outcomes.
That said, it seems like #3 is the most important, or a least universal. Things break down without some ability to get along.

Absolutely!
The Left doesn't compromise.
You have to push the whole country a step or two closer to Venezuela to get them to agree with anything.
