Anytime fitness cancellation policy...........

so I decided to go back to working out at red lerille's health club and decided to cancel my anytime fitness account last month, which is a few months after the contract expired. I didnt realize I had signed up for the automatic month to month renewal after my contract expired - at least the girl says I did.
The girl on the phone said I had to sign and fax a letter stating my desire to be cancelled. So I did this and thought that was the end of it. Well I am looking at my bank account online yesterday and I noticed they drafted my account again. So I called there today and asked wtf was going on. She said that they have a 30 day cancellation policy and that my letter was dated after the draft last month and this month's draft would be my last one.
So to recap, I paid two months down when I signed up ($86), paid 10 more months on the contract ($430), then paid three months automatically renewed ($129), then one more month after I cancelled ($43). Quite a nice little racket they have going there

Actually that sounds like any automatic renewal business deal I've ever been involved in. It's pretty standard. Just be glad they didn't have a 90 day notice. 30 days is normal.

with your oil prices today, you have no room to talk.

basically I wanted a one year contract and I paid for 16 months
a health club with a 90 day notice policy would go out of business, their competition would kill them with that kind of policy

Go by there about 2:30 in the morning and throw a brick through the window. That's what I'd do.

i called the one I joined during the day and the owner took care of me
I am now waiting for next month where the company that drafts your account for anytime fitness "makes a processing error" and takes another month out of my account

I signed A 2 YEAR CONTRACT with Fitness and Beyond but it brought my bill to $30/month. I actually think I have to renew pretty soon!

I cancelled my Red's membership the other day and the woman in accounting wanted an explanation of why I didn't want to be a member. Kinda felt like I was trying to leave a Scientology sect.
