quote:DX induction makes Shawn Michaels a 2x HOF'er, so doubt thats the reason Rick Rude isn't included. Guess it was because he wasn't around DX as long as the others and is probably the last member of the group most people think of when they hear DX.
That would've made him 2x hofer so maybe they don't think he belonged in that group.

Honestly? Rock, leader of The Nation whose feud with HHH made stars of them both in 1998 and again in 2000.

Rude’s method of giving notice he was out of the WWE post-Montreal probably plays into it.
Showing up on a live Nitro with your beard shaved to show it was live instead of taped leaves an impression.

Didn't he appear on WCW the same day that WWF played their taped week in advanced show and bitch about Bret Hart getting screwed by Vince McMahon in the Montreal screwjob versus Shawn Michaels?
Probably why Vince did not include him as a member

Time Warner and the people that hired Vince Russo killed WCW.....the fingerpoke of doom and Hogan laying down for Jarrett did way more damage to WCW than DX invading did....BUT there is no doubt that over the last 3 years of WCW that WWE was putting out better TV consistently.

Well of course. That was much more to do with Austin vs Vince and other wrestlers than DX though.

Really shows how petty of a person Vince is. All these years later and he still has to shite on WCW.

Lol. WCW should have opened that door they drove up to and let them in.
Bischoff claims he didn't know they were there but if he did he would have let them in

WCW pulled in crazy loads of names from WWF then proceeded to do little with them beyond dragging the NWO angle out for an obscene amount of time. Had they just left it with Hall, Nash, Hogan and Pac I think it would have gone over much better. Having pretty much everyone and their brother join then just frick up the set and ring every week got old.
And then you had a whole other tier of wrestlers they either kept completely out of it or just on the periphery (see: Jericho and Glacier). Not only that but they sacrificed those wrestlers for the sake of the NWO angle (anyone not in it pretty much did not get a push).
Meanwhile, WWF was taking their up and comers and making mega stars out of them. Austin, The Rock, Mankind, HBK, HHH, DX, Nation of Domination, Val Venus, Godfather, etc.

DX had a direct hand in driving ratings for WWF from late 97-early 2000....to say that the great product in those years from WWF was not driven by DX in addition to Rock, SCSA, etc is insane.

Jericho and Glacier
Damn those two in the same sentence....hokey shite like Glacier and the Yetayyyyy are what got WCW to bringing in the older stars like you mention.
But yeah I agree on Jericho.....even Bischoff says he didn't realize what he had in Jericho until he was already signed with Vince

There were a few problems with WCW with regards to Jericho.
One, he was seen as too small, hence the “vanilla midgets” comments about Benoit, Saturn, etc.
Two, WCW was paying guaranteed money to a number of main event guys who couldn’t or wouldn’t work with anyone outside that group.
Goldberg smashing his way into the forefront was definitely the exception to the rule, as most of their main event guys were ones who had been former WWE headliners like Hogan, Nash, Sid, Flair, Piper, etc.
A number of guys besides Jericho, from Raven to The Radicalz, left because there was no room for advancement.

When wrestlers get inducted into the HOF, do writers as well? Since the writers are responsible for the storyline and therefore everything that happened in their career, shouldn’t they get a shoutout for preemptively dictating a storyline worthy of the HOF?
