Remember, he was great hitter at Delgado (singles guy, but still). Going INTO conference play he was over .300 last year, then he got hurt, and just wasn't the same after that. I think he even went .400 in the Missouri series before he got hurt next series.
He's also ridiculously fast. So he can stretch singles into doubles between savvy heads up base-running and steals.
I think Broussard is the wild card. If he can hit like he did before the injury...this offense is going to be a nightmare to deal with.
I think we'll see a big jump in SB's from Hughes as well.

12-15 homers for smith.
Wouldn't surprise me at all. He had 2 HR's in 16 ab's last year, & his body is 1 year more mature.
He also hit like 10 balls on the warning track his freshman year. I think he's about to blow up.

My same line of thinking. He hit a ton of warning track balls that first year

There is a chance we see Garza struggle with strikeouts early in the season. In his JUCO season and his summer season, he started off slow. But when he put it together he started hitting HRs like crazy.

don’t think so. Broussard was either our best, second best, or third best hitter going into conference last year before he got hurt. I don’t think he is in there just for bunt or hit n run
But wasn’t that in the 8-9 spot and he didn’t hit worth a crap at the top of the order?

I’ve been thinking the same. Maybe even hits a bit of a wall in early SEC play as well.

You are way overreacting to my comments.
FWIW, Walker did have a setback back in December. I can’t remember if it was reported, but Hunt mentioned it on the radio this morning. It explains his limited innings.

We have arms to be excited about. That's all I care about. Where they are in the rotation, I trust Dunn with that assessment. I'm guessing PM thinks Hill is a star in the making and just can't keep him out of the rotation.

I hope we blow the doors off ULM tonight. I want to see Dugas, Beloso, Willis, and DiGiacomo get to the plate.
We have an offensive line up that can provide a lot of opportunities for late game ABs for freshmen who are also very talented offensive players.

With those 4 and Reid, there are 5 solid platoon/pinch-hit options on the bench. It will be a luxury to be able to substitute for favorable matchups of righty vs lefty or better fastball hitter or breaking ball hitter based on opposing pitching.

Pretty sure Broussard started last year in the 9 hole, but moved to the top of the lineup after Josh Smith got injured. Hughes batted in the 9 hole after that.
Broussard was hitting above .400 at one point (if he wasn't .400 at the time of his injury, he was damn close). The injury changed everything.

Duplantis is too good to be in the 3 hole
1,2,4, and 5 are all more important than the 3 hole
What major college team or MLB team do you manage and when can we tune in to watch your managerial decisions play out?

Just about. 3 games start at 10am. I've got the game trackers pulled up already.
