Like the articles states, this is a rumor and should be treat as such until official confirmation.
That said i feel bad for Johnson, if you didn't like his film, cool. That said the guy had to endure unwarranted backlash from a barrage of trolls.

I personally have no idea why Rian Johnson would even want to do another SW film. Love or hate TLJ, there was simply no excuse for the vitriol abuse he took from fricktwit "fans". Something that made all SW fans look like cousin humping, basement dwelling losers.

I think Johnson could do wonders with a solo trilogy
I just want him to stay the frick away from any stories involving the Skywalker's, Solo's, or Organa's.
He can take Rose with him.
Maybe he makes a movie about Holdo's rise to power, while fighting off all the oppressive men and taming all the toxic masculinity. Seems in his wheelhouse
