What items have you found that you can't live without on long trips. Especially trips overseas.

Plugs that work in foreign countries (for your electronics). Copies of passport, credit cards. Comfortable shoes. International cell phone plan. Research on how to get around (subway, bus, etc). Don't overpack - backpack and carryon. Waterproof jacket or travel umbrella. Multiple places for credit cards, cash (on your body) - definitely money belt - mine has built in rfid protection. Vest or jacket with multiple pockets (ex: scottevest).

For long no plane trips: Noise cancelling headphones, battery backup, iPad, snacks, Nalgene full of water, a whole bunch of ebooks and soothing/relaxing playlists, cashmere scarf that doubles as blanket, neck pillow, easy on/off shoes....

Same, and for us it's as much about not having to use international adapters as it is to keep our stuff juiced on the go.

We mostly just charge the powerbank and then recharge devices from that.

Also, having some good quality totes, even the cloth kind for 99c from the grocery store can be helpful. Especially nice when you're traveling by train and whatnot. Won't help you on the flight back but makes it easier to keep moving without having to repack and condense, and they won't tear up like bags you get from stores.
