The greatest recruiter may just be the best cheater. Ever think of it that way?
And look at the flip from AU to UGA..... players saying, "they probably paid him".
Call me crazy, but I dont think LSU is paying players or cheating like that. I really do not... and I dont think Les Miles did either

When I was at LSU in the mid-80s I personally witnessed:
- John Williams, from south-central Los Angeles, was driving a red 5-series BMW.
- Steffond Johnson, basketball player, was driving a brand new 280ZX. He got kicked off the team, and the next week another basketball player was driving the same car.
- I got a copy of a test, the night before, via a friend, from Jeff Wickersham, starting QB
- My close friend worked at a nice men's clothing store and Don Redden charged $800 (a big chuck in the mid-80s) on a credit card that wasn't his.
This stuff goes on everywhere, and you're terribly naive if you think it doesn't happen at LSU.

You are correct. LSU is not paying players. But, that isn't how this works.
ETA: University of Alabama doesn't pay players either. Their network of alums pays them. So LSU alums step up. Those bags are not going to fill themselves with cash. Their parents need jobs. The pastors need payment. Brothers/Sisters need taken care of....easy to give them jobs or pay them.
Plenty of ways it all goes down and Alabama has it figured out.
