I feel like a little kid waiting for the new Tool album

Can't remember the last time I was pumped about an album release. Long been a massive fan. My GF surprised me by renting a hotel in Jacksonville for the rock show coming up with them as the headliner on the last day.
Any other Tool fans on here pumped as shite about the thirteen year wait finally being over?

You sure about that? This is Tool we're talking about.

Is it though? Pretty sure they hired George RR Martin to write the liner notes.

Been hearing April and seems to be confirmed. Add in the multiple tours set seems likely. They tour during new album releases

They’ve toured several times in the last 13 years and I saw them as recently as 2016. Doesn’t mean they are supporting a new release.

New release on or about 4/20 if my scooby senses are correct.

I have too, but they signed on quite a few and Maynard has confirmed it is finished. So don't think they will hold it to long before releasing it.

TOOL singer Maynard James Keenan has shot down rumors that the band's long-awaited new album will arrive in April.
Asked by a fan on Twitter if it's true that TOOL's new disc will be released in two months, Maynard responded simply: "No."
Keenan's latest comment comes a month after TOOL drummer Danny Carey told a fan at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California that "the plan" was for the group's new LP to come out "mid-April."
Carey has made other predictions before about TOOL's fifth full-length album, including saying at one point in late 2017 that the record would be out in 2018. TOOL officially entered the studio in March 2018 to begin recording its first full-length album since 2006's "10,000 Days", with Keenan tweeting last month that he had finished laying down his vocals "months ago." The band has a number of festival appearances already booked in May and June.
Maynard attempted to explain the long gap between TOOL albums in a 2017 interview with "The Joe Rogan Experience". Speaking about his bandmates, the singer said: "Their writing process is so drawn out. And I'm sure there's a lot of reasons why the delay has been long. Their process is very analytical, and I think, at some point, maybe because so much time has gone by from the last album, there has to be a little bit of fear in here. [You think to yourself] 'Is this record gonna be as good as the last one?' The anticipation now is… Now the pressure is huge, so I'm sure there's some of that [that] goes into play."
Keenan spent part of 2018 touring with A PERFECT CIRCLE, whose first album in 14 years, "Eat The Elephant", came out last April.

Maynard is quite literally the king of trolls and the tool army eats that shite up.

This is how I feel about Lana's new album, mate

I feel like a kid too but in a sense that we’ll be grown ups before it ever comes out

I’d be a little more excited if I still listened to their music, but I haven’t used a CD player in over a decade.

In all seriousness I’m going to get the new record, but a long wait doesn’t equal a good album. I had high expectations for Lateralus and 10,000 Days and both records were just ok IMO. With the exception of a handful of songs I found the bulk of the last two albums pretty boring. Sure following up Aenima was never going to be easy, but two long waits for two mediocre records has killed any anticipation for future albums. I guess I would rather be pleasantly surprised instead of let down.

Ticks & Leeches
Lateralus
Disposition
Reflection
Triad
Vicarious
Jambi
Wings 1 & 2

That's definitely more than a handful.

Yeah I liked about 4 of those songs
I don’t know man. I tried to like them. Listened to both albums in their entirety, but was never drawn back to them like earlier records. Will try again since my tastes in music have changed a lot since ditching CDs. Guess I’ll have to you tube stream until Maynard and streaming services finally get along.

I'm too spoiled by instant access from Spotify, Amazon Prime Music, etc. I rarely ever listen to Tool because I'd have to do all the above, and I don't feel like wasting space on my phone with music when I can just stream 99.9% of what I want. I admit, it's sort of lazy, but I guess I'm not as into Tool as I used to be so I don't have a desire to put their albums on my phone.

I'm not a big 10KDays fan either, but love Lateralus. You know what you like, and that's really all that matters.

If you're just importing Tool albums, you might use 2.5gb of phone storage. I'm with you on the fact that nearly all of my favorite artists are available on Spotify but when I do get in the mood for Tool, I like having it on my phone.
