I know you are probably right, but man the example it is setting for future high school prospects is not good. I still think it needs to be nipped in the bud. I probably would not make it as a recruiting coordinator

I would have quit playing games with these amite boys a long time ago.

That's just an unfortunate part of recruiting these days. It sucks for us that the Amite guys are just really good at playing the game.

I mean we are going to land 1/2 of the Amite guys. From this area recently we have landed 2/5, and Carter turned out to be nothing special.

Hit on Lee (maybe), Palmer.

Miss on Shyeim Carter, Sopsher (maybe), Devonta Smith.

I feel like the huge “Amite problem” is blown way out of proportion, because Devonta Smith caught the game winning TD in the National Championship.

Recruiting is like sales. You gotta keep plugging away at customers and non customers alike.

I will care if we lose out on Sopsher, and Young, and every other DL we are recruiting. Don't have to land them all, but you have to land somebody.

Starting to think the kid from Utah maybe the only top pull on Dline

We may very well be getting played here, but a source inside the program thinks we have a real shot at Byron Young and Ish. I’m skeptical myself based on everything I’ve heard, but they are optimistic inside the building.

2020 class will be stacked. My guess is that we still land 1 of 3 between Moore, Sop, Young. Most likely Moore at this point.

It definitely is

I could be wrong, but I think it was blown out of proportion well before this. People were freaking out the summer before these guys junior years (2017) about how they were must gets and we had to take that area back. It's been mentioned a couple of times that it was then that Sopsher said we could be communicating better, even though it was before any coaches were supposed to be in direct communication yet.

Makes sense. I wonder where it comes from. It seems like an exaggeration. Before this class with 3 guys from the area, I can only remember Smith and Carter being the 2 big time misses from there. Carter turned out to be nothing either.

If Shea and Jimmy follow suit I will concede Sopsher to Bama. In one day last week Spiegs flipped back and forth between LSU and Bama multiple times.

Pay more attention to what BAMA posters and “experts” say.

For some reason unbeknownst to me, when it comes to Louisiana kids, they have better information than our writers do. It’s the craziest thing to me.

When that article about the connections between Sopsher, his father, the barber and Petito - I knew this puppy was over.

Yep once Rodney reclassified I think any chance LSU had was removed. Hope O can get Byron Young. We can't go o fer on D Lineman. I know we have Ika and another guy, but we need more. Bama has what, 10 so far. Unreal.

Agreed. I’d be happy with him but would really be happy if we could also add Fuller or Harrison-Huente. Even with the expected 2020 class, I feel like 3 DL is not enough this year.

I’ve read so much about how overrated this kid is. If he is, why does Gumps want him so bad? Is it just to stick it to us?!

He’s a very good player and most on this board are clueless! O is recruiting him very hard and Saban is too. That’s all you need to know how good he is!

A lot of people like the size and ability. The question marks (from many teams/evaluators) are motivation and motor. LSU and Bama obviously feel they can get that worked out and get him to reach his potential.

Embody said Sopsher is probably gone. Supposedly he’s “torn” after his visit to Bama.

I’ve seen this scenario play out before several times.
